Luna Viana POV The smell reached me before I stepped inside. Bitter herbs. Boiled bark. And something else beneath it—something sour and heavy that no amount of medicine could fully mask. The infirmary door stood partially open, as though too many people had passed through it in recent hours for anyone to bother closing it properly. I paused just outside, my hands hovering near the wood but never quite touching it. Inside, low sounds blended together in an uneasy rhythm. Laboured breathing. Soft coughing.
