Mia sat on the edge of the couch, eyes locked on the floor in a manner that was just too serious. The silence was long and heavy, and I knew that whatever was coming was eating away at her from the inside out.
"I lost control... During mana restoration class." she said at last.
I said nothing, squinting my eyes in shock as my gaze locked onto the table in front of me.
"I tried to ground myself like we learned in class. Breathing, focus, intent but it just snapped, like something else was in control."
