Mia’s POV The bridge carried us into silence. Not the peaceful kind. The kind that pressed against my ears until every heartbeat sounded too loud. Each step echoed across the newly restored stone. Ancient silver runes glowed beneath our feet, pulsing with the same rhythm as the mark on my wrist. It was as though the bridge itself recognized me now. Recognized the promise I had made. I will unite them. The words replayed in my mind. Not because I regretted them. Because I was beginning to understand their weight. Ahead of us, the fog slowly parted. An enormous platform floated at the bridge’s end, suspended above an endless abyss. Pillars of white crystal stretched into the darkness, disappearing so high above that I couldn’t see their tops. At the center stood a single figure.
