Chapter Two-Terrain for Rogues

1091 Words
Mia Heather’s POV “Promise that this love would last forever,Bladen?” “I promise and when i turn eighteen, i would make you my mate and my Luna.” His words echoed in my head and the pain and betrayal i felt tore deep into my skin, creating wounds i was not sure would ever heal. Males are liars. But my father is not. He was right about Bladen from the day i came back from training, prancing around from my inner wolf’s elation-i just found my soul mate. “There is no way your soul mate is the heir to the Blood Moon Pack, he would never get married to you. You are just the healer’s daughter. You are nobody.” I was so clouded with my love for Bladen since that day that i ignored reality. The way our purs fit together whenever we are walking hand in hand, the nights when we wold sit together and watch the full moon and the conversations we had about how we would soend the rest of our lives together, ruling over Blood Moon Pack. Everything was a lie. “Who is there?” I heard a deep male voice that brought me back into reality. I rubbed my eyes to clear out the fog of tears that hovered it and looked around. These trees were not familiar. The soil her ewas drier that the ones i know. The pines were crooked. I moved back, trying to know my location and my leg slipped on a branch, making a racket. “Again, who is there? Show your face or we will attack.” My mouth started deying out and my hands and legs were having tremors. I was scared. “Hel-lo.” I tried so hard to force words out of my mouth. “Who is it?” The voice became louder, the person was closer to me. I squinted my eyes, trying to see through the ghick plants but there was no wolf around, not even a silhouette. “My name is Mia Heather and i think i am lost.” “What Pack do you belong to?” The voice was farther now, as if the person talking was moving. I did not know if the question was a trap or if it was equivalent. What if they were rivals to the Blood Moon Pack? “Are you dumb now?” “I-i am from the blood moon pack.” “Thought as much. Wolves from that pack are always weak and faint hearted.” There was a loud roar overhead and i saw a dark motorcycle landing beside me, making my heart leap. Before i could pricess what just just happened, three other motorcycles deove towards me, turning different styles before parking close to me. The lights from the accelerated motorcycles were enough to create lumination and see who were around. Four men. The first man had a blind fold on one eye and tattoos of something that looked like a snake rounded his neck. His leather jacket was buttoned open. The second man had a very prominent scar on his lip, his eyes were closed with glasses and he was shirtless, his whole chest filled with ink marks. Man number three looked less scary but the twi of his front teeth were missing and his smile was very creepy. The last man had his hair in a ounk style, a tattoo on his right arm and his leg was amputated. One thing was common in all of them, they were all on bikes, bikers. “Mia Heather, how did you end up in a place like this? A terrain meant only for Rogues.” I swallowed hard. I have only read about Rogues in my father’s medical books. They looked scarier in real life. “I guess i missed my way. I was roaming around.” “Roaming? Why would a naive pup like you be roaming out in the wild this late?” “Naive? Do not dare call me naive! And i am not young! I turn eighteen today. I am here because i cried through the paths while running, i probably missed my route.” “I know natives of the Blood Moon Pack are soft but not to the point of crying. Why were you crying?” “My supposed mate got married to another woman tonight.” “Oh, so sad! But maybe you can make yourself feel better by m**********g to the thought of how they would mate. I heard that this mating season would be with so much heat, many wolves from dar and wide are around.” “You are so mean! I am going back!” “Back to where? A place that rejected you? The moon is down, you would never find the right path without proper lighting. You might even end up dead before tomorrow.” “So what am i going to do here?” “Let us discuss about it.” They formed a circle, backing me with their motorcycles. The distance between them and i was not much and my wolf hearing could pick up almost everything they were saying. “What if she is a spy?” “Why would they send a female spy? Plus she is kind of stupid to be a spy.” “What if we mate with her?” “Nah, she is pure and raw blood. We might not enjoy it!” “True! So what do we do to her?” “We can trade her to the other rogues, they can taje her in as a slave.” Their conversation was making me more uncomfortable and i put a stop to it. “Um, do you guys know that i can hear you clearly?” They turned to me and gasped. “Oh! Sorry about that. We forgot that pure breeds have good sense of hearing. How can you be of good help to us,Mia?” “I am a trained healer.” They turned around and started talking to each other, whispering this time but i could still hear them. “Healer? What if she can help Loren with his injuries?” “Who is Loren” “He is family and you must help his injuries heal, he is in a really bad state.” “And what if i don’t?” “We will kill you and eat you. Not a threat, you have probably heard a lot about Rogues.”
