Busted...

There are times in life when your only choice is to play dirty… Luckily, that's my favorite way to play… -Meda Meda I was in utter shock… "Chelsea?" The short, curly-haired teen goddess rolled her eyes at me and shrugged. "Hey, don't give me that look! This wasn't my idea. Blame that stupid old man," she said, pointing to a short black man. Proteus… But why would he? Proteus glared daggers at his youngest daughter. "Hey! See, this is the problem! You little bug-eyed girls have no idea how to respect your elders!" Chelsea glared back at him. "Yeah, whose fault is that? Last time I checked we were raised by your dumb ass!" "I'm not to blame for that! Y'all were brats in the womb!" "Shut up, old man!" I chuckled a little… Chelsea is a savage… Proteus turned his attention back to me. "I don't have time for this. Where the hell is Hali?" I stayed silent, making him rub his temples. "What cat got your tongue? Spit it out! I have to go home. The wife is going to start asking questions." I smirked at him. "I have no idea, I haven't seen her in days. Is that why I'm sitting here tied up? You could have just asked." He glared at me. It looked hilarious. Proteus was quite a character. His face was relatively attractive for a middle-aged man. Light stubble, medium dark brown eyes, a short, well-kempt afro. He always dressed in regal clothing. Right now, he was wearing a nice cream colored number that made him resemble a wealthy mortal sheik along with expensive-looking black loafers. He was definitely one of the shortest gods in existence, but that didn't make him seem any less intimidating than Zeus himself. Thing is, I knew him. Hell, he and his wife practically raised me. The only problem was that meant he also knew me like the palm of his hand. "You can't lie for s**t, where is she?" I smirked and remained silent. There was no way I would tell him where she was. I was many things, but unloyal wasn't one of them. His glare only got more menacing by the minute. I could tell he was starting to lose his patience. I had to think of a way to get out of there. My hands and feet were bound by his lackey's spell and my head was still throbbing. He let out a sigh. "I promise you nothing will happen to her, I just need to get her back before the wife notices. She'll castrate me if she finds out I went to the bar with Thanatos and let her escape again. I was on watch duty." I laughed weakly. "How is that my fault? You got yourself into this mess; now get yourself out of it. Besides, dumbass over there hit me so hard, I seem to have lost my memory of the past few days." I said, glancing over at his lackey, who blushed and averted his gaze, whilst nervously fumbling with his thumbs. Proteus glared at him, and I swear a bead of sweat ran down his face. "I specifically told him not to touch you. You know I never would physically hurt you. You're like a daughter to me." I looked down at my bound feet and then raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah? Funny way of showing it." He shrugged. "What? This is called tough love!" This man really had a f****d up idea of what "tough" love was. "Actually, it's called kidnapping, you senile old coot." Chelsea spat. "Well, she wasn't going to tell me anything if I didn't tie her up! You know how you little heathens are!" We both gave him a blank stare. He groaned. "Ugh, fine! Dorian unbind her! And disrespectful brat, you heal her." Chelsea smirked at him. "Or I could just take a pic and send it to mom…" All color drained from Proteus's face. "You wouldn't dare…" She placed her finger on her chin. "I don't know… Maybe if you asked me nicely…" He let out a defeated sigh. "Ugh, would you p-p-please heal her and keep this a secret from mom. That woman is terrifying." Chelsea smiled at me and winked but Dorian just stood there, a pensive look on his face. "Are you sure that's a good idea boss? We still have no idea where Hali-Rae is." Proteus stared at him as if he was about to slap him for disobedience but soon realized he was right. "Ok, Meda. I'll only set you free if you promise not to run away and tell me where Hali is." Fuck…Rae would never forgive me if I told him. She hates being locked up and overprotected. "I already told you I don't know where she is." He scoffed. "Then you can just stay there, a little blood loss won't kill a goddess, but boredom just might." I glared at him, causing him to smirk. "So do we have a deal?" Lie… I smiled at him. "Fine, I promise." He eyed me suspiciously. "Gods' pact," he said. Shit… He turned his attention to Dorian and nodded his head, then extended his arm out. The bind softened only enough for me to be able to shake his hand begrudgingly. As my hand met his a white glow emitted itself from both of our palms, sealing our pact, and the binding spell was lifted. Chelsea walked over to me and held her hand to the back of my head, using her water power to heal me. I let out a sigh of relief as the throbbing slowly faded away. "Sorry about this," she whispered. I just looked at her, not really knowing what to say. "Ok, now that I've kept my side of the deal, tell me where Hali is." I smirked at Proteus and put my hand behind my back stealthily. A very convenient turn of events had made my fanny pack slide to my back, and I grasped one of my apples. "She's at a club." Proteus gave me a blank stare. "I don't have time for this. What club, Meda?" I smiled at him innocently. "Actually, I only said I would tell you where she was, and I did." I put my apple up to my mouth and quickly took a bite. Smirking as the cloud of black smoke started to cover my body, I gave Proteus a warning. "I won't allow you to lock up my best friend, and you should learn to stop being overprotective and also be more specific whilst making pacts. See you around, old man…"
