“Admit it, you are from Howl Hollow,” Sabrina persisted, following Elise like a shadow.
“Can you let me be, please? I never said that.”
“I heard you loud and clear. You said ‘Howl’ and suddenly went quiet when you realized you were about to mention that cursed place in Silverpine.”
“Oh, Moon Goddess, what have I gotten myself into?” Elise mumbled under her breath, her patience finally reaching its limit.
“That woman,” Sabrina muttered suddenly, her voice dropping. “She has been looking at us for a while now.”
“What woman?” Elise asked.
“Don’t look yet,” Sabrina warned, but it was too late; Elise had already spun around.
She gasped, pressing her hand over her mouth to suppress a sudden surge of hiccups.
