TWENTY-ONE“JASON, LEFT AGAIN,” me pointing to the next road ahead that could bring us back and around the way we came. The shadows from the high school to our right sped by as we crossed in front of it, the engine noise bouncing off the sides of the buildings. The next left took us up another residential road perpendicular to the previous one, this one again with intermittent speed bumps. I leaned in closer to Jason, so he could hear me over the growl of his truck’s engine. “Don’t worry about the suspension or the exhaust, just get us out of here!
