ELEVENINSIDE, THE ROOM WAS much bigger than I had anticipated. It was like any other massage room, except that the massage table was not the only flat surface provided. Apart from the table itself, there was also a large futon covered in what looked like plastic bedding to the left side, pushed against the wall. On the opposite end there was a room divider, behind which, I assume, someone could change their clothes, with only the person’s silhouette visible on this side. A soft and dark orange glow filled the room from lamps positioned strategically in the corners of the room. The atmosphere was warm. The room was clean.
