I was nervous for my next class, especially after what happened between me and my friend. I needed to clear the air, but no Aellyn. I scoured the hall for the springy head of pink hair, desperate to talk to her. I hadn’t seen her since she agreed to join the Ravens and I didn’t. Was she alright? Maybe it had been a ruse. Maybe they didn’t recruit her. Maybe she was dead. Maybe— “Morning!” the Wood Elf chirped as she took her place behind me in the class line-up.
