Siren's Song

Episode 3

After having an interview, the chief gardener raised the green flag to accept him. He didn't know how to react at that time. But he shook the hands of the chief gardener to show his thankfulness. The chief gardener accepted his will and then he went back home. On the road, he couldn't hide the happiness on his face and jumped on the road. Every shop on the sides of the road looked at him like a weird person. But he didn't care about their looks. He has got an excellent opportunity now. He rushed back home and looked at his face in a tiny mirror that hung on the wall. He had this tiny apartment as a place to stay and now he got a formal job. He couldn't wait to hear the sound of coins in the coming days. He could send more money to his parents too. With those happy thoughts, he couldn't sleep at night. In the morning, he heard the door knocking sound. So, he rushed up from bed and headed to the door. He opened it in a hurry and saw the castle guard. He wondered why the guard had come there. The guard said, "today is your first day to go to work". He looked up at the sky and said "gosh, I am late". The guard said, "Hurry can't be late to worry about the magical tree". He didn't know why they weren't patient with this tree. None of them told him detailed information about the magical tree. When he got into the garden, he walked forward to the tree and looked around. He said, "why does this look like a slender man". The guard came up to check out if the work was done. Then, the guard found out he wasn't finishing his tasks yet. The guard warned him "you must do your job as soon as possible. It can't be late because it's about to noon". The guard didn't like his laziness in treating and caring for the tree. So, the chief castle guard went to the office of a chief gardener. When the chief castle guard entered the gardener's office, he saw the gardener was getting busy with fertilizers. So, the chief guard waited at the corner of the office for a while. A minute later, the chief gardener turned his back and saw him. The chief gardener said, "Oh, Ven how long did you get here". Ven said, "it's not taking long, Wiem". Wiem moved closer to him and gave him a stool to sit down on. Ven took the stool and started talking about the new gardener for caring for the magical tree near the forest. Wiem focused while talking. And then, he said, "I know and that plant needs someone like him". He continued, "you know, I tested him on more than 10 questions and I find serious power in him". Ven said, " Okay, then I'm just curious about him". Wiem said, "just go back to work and don't worry about him".

In the evening, Siren was sitting down under the tree and taking out his flute, and playing a song. The young princess in a hammock was sleeping well in the evening and night after hearing his song and flower scents. It all happens before serious things change this situation. That evening, his stomach ached too much and he needed to get some food as soon as possible. So, he walked up to the gardener's office and also into the kitchen. He hadn't seen anyone there so he started looking for food to fill his stomach. From the start, he still couldn't get any coins yet and he still faces hunger at home now. If his chief gardener and cooking maid of the kitchen are around, they will give him some bread and nuts. Now, he couldn't go back home without having food. And then, he went back to the garden and looked up at the trees to have a fruit to fill up his stomach. At that time, he saw the big red apple-shaped fruit on his tree. He was a caretaker for this tree. But he would say a word to the chief gardener later. Now, he couldn't stop himself. So, he raised up his hand and took the fruit. Then, he looked at the fruit and took a bite. He ate it all at once. And then, he felt full of stomach. But his steps weren't moving. He tried to move slowly and he reached near the pond in the middle of the garden. He laid his legs on the pond and it started the change to the root. He scratched his hands because it was so tickling and rashes showed up on his skin. He didn't know what happened. Later, he transformed into a tree at the poolside. When the sun rose and everyone got back to work as normal, the chief gardener saw his belt bag and his pipe flute beside the pond. The chief gardener noticed something bad would happen to him. So, he requested help from Ven to find him at his home and nearby places. Ven also ordered his guards to find them around the forest. There were many dangerous species in a forest also. So, he might get caught by them somehow. No one could find a trace of him still alive. After his mysterious disappearance, the king ordered the gardeners and the guards to build a fence around the forest and pond areas. The princess's room and the queen's room moved to the other wing of the castle. At midnight, the mysterious tree appeared in the pond and it started singing every night. The maids and kitchen workers were scared to go near the garden. Only the brave gardener goes there and works until evening. None of them stayed there at night. The queen loved to plant trees and flowers, so the king made the other rear garden at the north of his castle. The abandoned garden existed with little care from gardeners. There were few of them to take care of the magical tree, pond, and flower plants.

A few years later, the princess's ten-year-old birthday celebration was held at the castle. Every kingdom sent their presents and wishes to the princess. But Lily's uncle and his wife attended the celebration party. When the king sent his invitation, his brother replied with a letter with a request. His brother wanted to take his new consort. The king accepted him to attend the celebration party together with the queen of Abyss and consort. When they got into the gate, the guards were surprised to see their fantastic dresses. They dressed up the glittering stones and rare treasures as accessories. The king wore a furry coat over his body. They thought the people of Evalon would be amazed by their fantastic dresses and treasures. They raised their faces up and the servants and maids took the rest of their long dresses. They hate it if the rest meets the ground. Actually, the people of Evalon watched the proud and guilty king and queen's actions and forced them upon their servants. When they entered the castle, the king and queen of Evalon came up to welcome them. They had many guests already. So, the king and queen of the Abyss were late in coming to the party. The proud King of Abyss followed his big brother and the queen followed her sister-in-law. The consort followed after them and was hiding her face under the hood. She wore a long silky robe in b****y red color. No one else around the area wore that color dress. She was a witch and also the ex-girlfriend of the King of Evalon. The King turned back to the main door and saw her. Suddenly, he recognized her hand and the ruby ring.

But his brother dragged him to where they headed. He hadn't gotten a chance to see her face. Then, the witch went into the castle and walked upstairs. There was no guard or maid following her. She moved faster to reach the window to see her plants. She walked around the hallway without permission. The guests couldn't go to the back hallway. Then, she went into every room to reach the window. Finally, she found the queen's room where the window exists. In front of the door, there were three guards on duty to stop the entrance. She thought a little and used the sleeping dust upon them by blowing it out from her palm. The guards breathed in dust and fell down to the floor. Now, she doesn't worry about the eyes and people who watch her steps. She didn't realize that someone was going after her all along. She felt weird when she got into the room. Because the room was covered with spider webs and dust on the table, wardrobe, and everywhere. She walked up to the big window with color-stained glasses. She put her hands on the window and opened it. She was gasping when she saw the unbelievable view in the garden. There was a tree she planted near the forest which was surrounded by a fence. And then, the same tree with different positions exists on the pond side. She couldn't believe her eyes. At that time, she saw a young girl running up to the room from the hallway. That girl was wearing a baby pink dress made with precious silk. When the girl got near the room, she noticed the flower crown on her head. She said, "is that her who I killed before". The girl had dark golden blonde hair and brown eyes. She had pale skin. The witch couldn't move her eyes away from that girl. Suddenly, the girl went into the room and asked her "who are you". The witch didn't know how to answer or react to that child. The child was looking up directly at her face. And then, it kept staring at her for a long time. The witch was sweating a lot to answer her question.
