"Hi, Mhie, please tell Dad I can't go home this weekend; there is so much schoolwork to do. I'll try next week, ok? And Vri, tell her I love her." My hands trembled while holding my phone to my ear, and I was grateful my mom didn't hear the tremor. I am so guilty, but I needed to do this. Not just because I had planned to be with Kenzo, but because I needed to breathe after everything that had happened. "I love you too, Mhie," I whispered before closing my phone.
I let out a relieved sigh as I placed the bowl of ice cream on the desk and plopped onto my bed.
"Are you ready?" Kenzo called from behind the door.
I nodded before pulling myself up to meet him at the door. I was wearing a dark green bikini, a white shirt, and black shorts. He gave me a warm smile and pulled me in for a hug.
Kenzo had on the same outfit, only he didn't have his glasses. His hair was still damp, giving off the impression of having been washed just minutes ago.
"I'm sorry, we have to lie to our loved ones just to be with each other," I mumbled. I felt his body tense and then relax into mine as I buried my face into his chest.
"I badly wanted to go and let the world know that I am in love with someone as great as you." I continued as I looked into his eyes. I was sure he couldn't see my tears or how upset I really was at the moment.
Kenzo smiled and kissed my forehead, saying, "We're going to be okay. We just have to keep fighting."
We both took a seat on the edge of their beds and stared down at our intertwined fingers, thinking of things before Kenzo gave me a quick peck on my cheek and then squeezed my hand reassuringly.
"Ha!" I exhaled. "Let's just promise to make this a great weekend!" I cheered myself on before standing up and pulling Kenzo out of the room.
We had agreed to take the bus instead of my car. At first, I insisted, but to lessen Kenzo's guilt over having everything for free, I agreed to let Kenzo take his share of the transportation money.
"Come on, we'll be late!" Kenzo excitedly ran to the bus station while holding my hand with his left hand and our huge backpack with the other hand. I had a small bag for my self-care things.
The weather was mild, and the sky was blue. The breeze was a pleasant sensation against my skin as we stood at the bus station. I couldn't help but smile. It was just too perfect; it was frightening.
Then my gaze landed on Kenzo, who seemed to be staring at me like he was in awe, as he leaned over and cupped my chin with his right hand while placing a light kiss on my cheek. I turned my head slightly towards him before kissing him softly. We were lost in each other's presence for an instant before we heard the sound of a horn. We snapped around to see the bus driver staring at us grumpily.
"Bitter," Kenzo chuckled.
"We should get on; we don't want to miss the bus," I giggled in return, my smile reaching to my ears.
"Yeah..." Kenzo trailed off, his eyes never leaving mine as he grabbed my bag and led the way into the bus where I immediately sat down in the far end row and Kenzo chose the window seat.
As soon as we settled into the seats, the bus began moving slowly. I breathed slowly, taking in everything and telling myself that it wasn't just a dream before resting my head on Kenzo's shoulder as he held my hand.
"You know what's funny, Kenzo?" I giggled and pressed my nose against his arm. "Even though it's our first time being on a trip together, it feels like this is how it's always supposed to be."
"That's because it is, Stella." He kissed my head.
His answers felt so right every time. Well, it's not because he's really smart, but maybe because it might be true love this time.
Moments later, I couldn't help but laugh silently as Kenzo kept dozing off on my shoulder. He must be tired already from the amount of work he has to do during classes, and then he would come running to me afterward.
I exactly knew that Kenzo would just be sleeping the whole time, but I loved him being a sleepyhead. There was no time to look at other girls.
I looked down to check if he was awake, and he was, except he was now drooling over my boobs. "Are we there yet?" he asked sleepily, naughtily touching the tip of my breast outside my shirt.
I bite my lip with the pleasure of his gentle touch.
"Not yet," I answered back before giving him a quick peck.
He grinned and his eyes narrowed before reaching inside my shirt. Good thing we sat at the far end fow of the bus.
"Kenzo!" I feel heated, I barely said.
"Now I am sleepy," he smiled sweetly.
He returned to sleep and decided to snap a few photos of himself sound asleep. A souvenir.
After more than three hours, the bus conductor announced that we had reached La Union.
"Baby, we are here. Time to wake up," I cooed before leaning across to give him a peck on the lips.
"Hmm," he hummed in reply as he stretched and tried to stand up. He fell backward and ended up landing in my lap.
"Hey, wake up. We are nearly there," I teased while caressing his hair.
When he opened his eyes, he groggily blinked a couple of times before looking out the window.
I laughed at his expression. Even though he looks like he could fall asleep again any second.
Soon enough, we stepped out of the bus and walked towards an entrance with a large sign of the resort's name. It's one of the most visited beaches in La Union. Well, it's not just because of its Bali, Indonesia vibe, but for me, it's a place where you could actually just be you while in a serene environment. You could feel alone and free given that there are a lot of different people around. I've been here before, and I have always dreamed of coming back. Now, it's finally happening.
Inside, there are many shops, restaurants, bars, and clubs along the beach. This place is a popular tourist spot. Every kind of person is found here, especially couples.
After getting our key cards at the reception, we walked along the boardwalk until we arrived at the room we booked.
We booked a triangular hut with a single room, but it has enough space for both of us. The beach is just a short walk from our hut, but before anything else, we made love.
"Happy monthsary, baby," I whispered as we slowly walked to our bed after we took a warm shower.
It was quick, and we decided to walk by the beach after.
The sun was high above the horizon, which is why we were able to enjoy such wonderful scenery. The beach was calm and serene, but also very crowded. Families were enjoying themselves with their children and parents.
We were wearing only a pair of shorts and T-shirts. The sand was rough against our feet as we walked closer to the sea. Far ahead, there were colorful tents set up.
"Let's go grab some food and we'll..." I was not able to finish my words when Kenzo interrupted.
"We'll make love, and make love, and make love." He happily cuts in.
