"CHEEERS!" I wailed, raising my glass high in the air. The sound of laughter and clinking glasses filled the room as everyone joined in the celebration, except me, of course. Except for the fact that this celebration was just part of an act, I felt so stupid wearing a pair of jeans and a lousy blouse while everyone was dressed in elegant attire. I couldn't help but feel out of place, like an outsider amidst the joyous crowd. It was a painful reminder of how different I was from everyone else then. As the music blared and the crowd swayed to the rhythm, I found myself retreating into a corner, from time to time desperately trying to hide my discomfort and gathering my fighting smile. The weight of loneliness settled in my chest, suffocating me with each passing moment. I longed to escape
