Chapter FiveIt was daybreak when the sentries along the perimeter of the camp Colonel Hussein's platoon sounded the alarm. They were situated around ten miles west of Tal Afar and found themselves under attack by a platoon of ISIL soldiers. The enemy used the cover of darkness to surround the camp, having them pinned in on four sides. Hussein's squads set up defensive positions using their armored personnel carriers as cover.
