Chapter 14The next day, she spent the morning in the hospital with Scarlet. She’d brought Kelly with her, and hoped her little girl would bring some joy to the grieving couple.
“Hi Scarlet!” Sarah exclaimed happily as soon as they entered Scarlet’s room.
“Hi!” Scarlet greeted, her smile not quite reaching her eyes. “How are you?”
“I’m good. How are you feeling?”
“Okay, as good as I can.”
“Good, I’m glad.” she smiled, setting Kelly’s car seat on the chair next to Roger’s.
“Hi there, sweetheart.” Roger cooed to Kelly, happy to look after her while Sara and Scarlet chatted. He looked tired, but hid it fairly well.
