“What happened here?” Dorian asked, his eyes locked on me. I could see him barely restraining himself from letting the wolf inside take over. “Clara, sunshine, are you alright?”
“Better than alright,” I replied, “but Miss White seems to have lost her mind.”
“That’s not true!” Esther screamed. “She attacked me! I think she dislocated my arm—and I am, in case you’ve forgotten, a fencing champion. Do you have any idea what the consequences could be? Dorian, you have to help me!”
But Dorian wasn’t listening to her. He stepped closer to me, his voice calm when he addressed the security guard.
“Let her go. She’s my girlfriend. Miss White is an old acquaintance, and I think we can sort this out without outside interference. Besides, there are plenty of witnesses—and cameras.”
