' Samantha , now that we are family.. You must go out with me..' Vicky demanded staying after everybody else left.

I wonder when did I say yes to being his mate..?!

' Vicky, I have my reasons to distance from my own kind , could you please understand and let me be? '

' But.. but we are going to be family..' She said slowly.

' Vicky.. for now , nothing is clear, well yes, I got drunk and when fainted he helped me, but rather than that..'

' Just don't reject him, please? He went through a lot , losing you would completely destroy him..' She begged.

Oh.. If only she would know what I had to go through.

'And what if I'm already destroyed? Does your brother really need a broken toy as a mate? He's an alpha for goddess sake !' with every word her eyes opened more.

' No , I don't wanna share my past with anyone.' she nodded.

Walking the good old path same feeling as before appeared, something is not right.. Something changed , but what?

Observed every possible direction walking home and no difference cought my eye... It is until I reached that same corner.

' Hi, um , you know where is John?'

' I don't have cash with me , but .. maybe a sandwich would be good?'

What to even think of?! If he would have gotten cash he would've went to buy cigarettes or booze straight away, now he'll at least be full..

I rushed him to talk.

' Thank you for the sandwich , but to be honest , I don't know miss , no one knows , he just disappeared few days ago..'

' What do you mean by , just disappeared?'

' That's what I mean , before falling asleep he was sitting there and after I woke up he was gone , ever since then he's gone.'

' Thanks..' I said and walked away because goddammit any longer and he would've begged me to give him my purse with nothing in return.

'Hey Sam , you alright? You look stressed.' Ava questioned once I entered the apartment.

' John is gone, he never leaves his corner..' I explained.

' He might have found where to go.. or someone helped him..' She began telling all the possible reasons.

' No Ava , he would've told me about it..'

' Because he's my friend.. I feel that something is not right.'

Finished showering , put on new clothes and was about to move when received a message from unknown number.

Decided to check it out myself , said bye to Ava and left the apartment .

' Damian , What The F*ck ?'

He just ignored my confused question.

' Can I ask why?' he asked offering me to sit in his jeep.

' Friend of mine disappeared and I just wanna check if he came back..'

' I bet he can take care of himself and there's no need for you to be concerned..' he told.

' First of all , you know f*cking nothing about me nor my friends, second, you have no right to tell who to be concerned of and last but not least, you might be able to find second chance mate if I reject you ..'

The last words didn't sit well as he quickly stopped the car and gripped my wrist pulling me closer to him.

' Samantha , I'm not f*cking rejecting you , ever , so get used to being my mate , if you wanna play it hard , I'm good with it and ready to win your heart any way you want , but tell me s**t like that again .. and I gonna mark you right on the spot because trust me and my wolf, there is no way for you out of being our mate.'

' Your choice , but it will be very.. very hard as I'm not ready for that , never will be.' I spit it into his face.

' I see that already , but thanks for reminding me..' he said quietly.

' Spicy.. Alright , Change of plans , I'll take you elsewhere..'

He said and drove us away from the center, stopped just outside the city.

We just sat there for a while in peaceful silence.

I felt him wanting to come and hug me but kept his distance respectfully, he's a strong alpha from what I heard, so why he needs such luna as me..

' You know.. I don't understand why alpha wants such a weakling as me by his side..' I broke the comfortable silence eventually.

' His name is John, he lives on the corner between third and fourth ... ever since I came here he was on that corner, but .. few days ago he disappeared as I was told.. And I just wanna know that he's alright..'

' You'll be great luna..' he said dreamy..

Decided not to mind what he just said.

' He's a good person and deserves someone to care for him..'

' Alright, so, show me the exact place he sits.'

Few minutes walk and we reached destination.

' Here..' I told showing to few blankets put in pile without their host..

' Hm, alright .. let's see..' he told going around and sniffing the air.

' I wasn't able to smell it with all the people around seven hours ago.. but he left a trail of his scent..'
