CHAPTER 21: At the Bar

Augustus sat on the couch in his penthouse, scrolling through his phone. It was beyond his expectations that Marcus could achieve such a feet. It made him wonder if he had been pretending all these while or he just suddenly got wise. He never thought that this day would come when the Frauncis family would be in distress. And just like the proud lion they were, even when leaving, they did not bow down and still had their way of making people respect them. Them being defeated soiled his mood. He did not expect that this was the strength of the number one family in the entire nation... It was too low. "Monitor Marcus. Not the Orlando family.. they having nothing to offer. Marcus on the other hand seem more interesting".. He said to thin air, but knew that someone was listening. His people would always be close enough to receive his order, but would not appear in sight unless they were asked to. His lips curled up in a smile as he read the news. Lionel Sil Frauncis, was photographed in a bar drinking. Although this was the Sil family problem, it affected him the most because he was the CEO of the Sil tower and even though he didn't want to admit, Lionel spent so much time making this company grow to this extent. He was much more diligent that many other business men he knew. In the bar, Christian felt confused and worried. Lionel was someone obsessed with perfection and cleanliness, therefore he would never drink until he was drunk, neither will he come to the bar. This now.... Just how bad did this situation deal with him? He hated that Lionel was not making any effort. He hated that they had to sit idle and watch others scheme against them. Lionel sat across him, calmly gulping the drink in his glass. He thought of the fact that they were unable to find the person that was working with Marcus. He was no where in the country or outside the country. It was like he never existed. It made him wonder the kind of influence Marcus had or the kind of influence his backer had, to be able to pull this off. No matter what, the fact that Marcus planned treason, would lead him to his doom. Lionel understood his brother quite well.. at this point, he would use everything, every resource and even his life if need be, to make sure it never succeeds. He was very patriotic, but Lionel didn't blame him it was his job. One thing he would never allow him to do was to risk his life. "Some shareholders have been secretly selling their share, and at a low price at that. The company is fast approaching bankruptcy". Christian gritted his teeth. Those sly foxes! When the Sil tower was in its days of flourishing, they were so eager to buy, even at the highest price. Now they couldn't wait to sell it off for a dime. "Buy it all using an anonymous account". Lionel was not annoyed. He understood the rules of business world quite clearly, and also he was not as emotional as Christian. Christian stared at him, trying to make out his thought from his expression but greatest feat of his life, as Lionel was one who had little to no expression on his face. Urgh...! He felt frustrated. No one was telling him anything. Darius the sloppy one now acts enigmatic, putting on airs of superiority whenever they met. He knew something was brewing, but he didn't know how strong it was, he didn't know if it was aimed at reviving the Sil tower or just taking revenge on the enemy, or if it was starting afresh. But.... Lionel was not one to waste his time plotting revenge. So was it starting afresh?... So many questions left unanswered. 'He was practically about to go crazy'! But no one cared about his mental health. Lionel sat up as soon as his eyes caught sight of the figure that walked into the bar. She was dressed in black cargo pants, black crop top and black denim jacket paired with black boots. Her hair was packed up with some strands left to fall on her face. Her soft supple lips which were a natural pink, was now smoking red, asking to be baptized with a hard kiss. In all she so sexy that she turned heads. Many thought that being half naked was the only way to look sexy but she didn't need that. She was a walking seductress that even if she were to wear a straw, she would pull it off sexily. They sat in the first floor of the bar, in a private room. It was designed in such a way that they could see the activities happening in the ground floor. That was why he could see her as soon as she came in. He stood up and made his way downstairs. If he didn't appear by her side quickly, she would be dragged away by men in heat. Downstairs, Susan waited for some seconds then a man in suit came to her and directed her to a door that had the sign staff only. Lionel who was half way through the stairs paused. That door was not just any door but a passage to the private room of the owner of the bar. How was she able to enter the door? Is there some kind of relationship between her and the owner? An unsettling feeling crawled up his heart. She dressed so sexily today. Was it for the man she was about to meet? When ever they met she always had a look of impatience, like she couldn't stand being around him.. was it because of this man? For the first time, his hand itched for a smoke. "Get me a smoke". He said to Christian whom he knew was behind him. Christian rolled his eyes. Who know that this man who had been stressing him with his indifferent look would finally show an emotion.. He wasn't surprised at Lionel's reaction because he already knew that Lionel liked Susan. Lionel walked outside to wait by the car while he went to the bar tender to ask for a smoke. "You can leave. I'll drive myself back". Lionel said after receiving the smoke to which Christian nodded at then left. He stood outside for God knows how long, each seconds that passed by, took away 1 percent of patience. He had finished a whole packet of cigarettes and would have asked for more if Christian were here. After what felt like an eternity, he spotted Susan coming out of the bar but she was not alone. There was a man walking with her, they were so close to each other and they way she laughed at his words was something he had never seen before. Come to think of it, she had never laughed when with him. She never stood so close to him. Comparison was indeed a bad thing.. the more he compared, the more he found fault and the more dissatisfied he was. At the end, his face became as black as a pot. After the man left he walked to her and pulled her into his arms. Susan gasped in surprise, until she smelt the familiar smell the she looked up at him in confusion. "Why... Her words were cut off by his domineering kiss. He bit her lips as a punishment, making her hiss then he rolled his tongue on it soothingly, eliciting a moan from her. Her lips was so sweet that he felt drunk. His body started reacting, making him unable to enjoy the kiss anymore because he knew he may end up doing something crazy if he were to continue. "You will be the death of me"! He whispered in a throaty voice. She was the first person he had ever felt this way.. never had he been sexually aroused by anyone before. Susan came back to her senses after he broke the kiss. "Why did you kiss me?" "I was jealous. Why did you have to smile at him and even laugh with him, yet with me you are always impatient. You even dressed so sexily just to meet with him in a bar. I'm much better than him in every way". Lionel didn't know what was wrong with him, he just kept rambling, which was unlike him. Susan held back her smile. If she had been told that he was this childish she would have sworn on her life that he wasn't. Good thing she had not done anything like that if not her... Her precious life.. "You cannot kiss me again unless permitted to do so!" "You're here in a bar when your company is in trouble. Don't tell me you're giving up on it?" She frowned. Her heart felt uncomfortable at the thought of him loosing. Probably because she was already used to him being all high and mighty.. the him now was almost unrecognizable. Lionel's face lit up. "If I promise to revive the Sil tower within five days. Will you accept to go out with me?" Susan rolled her eyes. Was he treating her as stupid? What has it got to do with her if his company flourished or not? Seeing his crestfallen expression, she felt like a mother denying her kid lollipops. "Revive it first and I'll think about it". Lionel nodded with vigor. "You must not go back on your words okay?" "Yes. I will definitely not go back on anything I decide.." Susan's eyes danced with mirth which surprisingly went unnoticed by the always smart Emperor Lionel.
