As much as she wanted to blame Lionel for not telling her, she felt she couldn't.
Recalling all what happened, she did not give him any opportunity to react. Bracing herself, she wore the shirt that has just been taken off by Lionel.
She felt a bit shy to change in his presence but felt it would be more awkward if she were to go to the bathroom to change after all that they had done.
"I took a week leave from you school. I felt you'd need that much time to get over all this". Lionel commented, his eyes never leaving her beautiful body.
"Thanks".
She glanced at him from the corner of her eyes and blushed at his hot gaze that trailed on her.
They went downstairs again and the couple still maintained their position. It was like they never moved an inch.
Seeing how they looked like they had lost their souls, Susan felt great pain in her heart.
She went to her mother's side, and hugged her.
"I'm fine now mom. I promise."
Mrs President broke down into tears as she hugged her daughter. Her baby girl was always so considerate of her feeling, neglecting herself most times. Who was so cruel as to hurt her kind daughter?
"Let's go back now Suzy. Dad promises never to let this happen again ".
Lionel frowned. Although he had thought of letting her go with her parents after she woke up, that was before she became his girlfriend.
Now he wants her here with him. Especially after what happened. He wanted to be the one to take care of her.
At the end he sighed in his heart. She was still a child who would crave her parents care, and he could not stop her from leaving if she wanted to.
Susan though of what her dad said and then shook her head.
"I'd like to be here dad. I promise to come back home when I feel much better".
She could not be sure that she was totally fine, and she didn't want her mother to see her having nightmares of the unfortunate occurrence. It would break her..
She wouldn't like to trouble her.... Not like she wanted to trouble Lionel, she just felt at ease being with him.
Mr President frowned. He did not like the idea of his daughter living alone with a man. Not just any other man, this man.
Just as he was about to refuse, his wife held him back. She was a woman and also a mother. She understood that they were unable to make her feel much better than Lionel.
Besides she had seen how much attention and care Lionel gave to her daughter. She would have thought of it as a pretense if it was another man. But with his status, he did not need to pretend just to please anyone.
Lionel was still in shock even after the couple left. He couldn't believe that she would decided to stay with him rather than with her parents.
He had thought that as a child she would want...
"If you want me to stay you can just say it, rather than pursing your lips and looking like a grumpy old man". Susan teased.
She never thought of going back to her parents' because she was not sure how far she had come in terms with the occurrence yesterday.
"You knew". He never thought himself as one who was so easy to read..or was it just her?
"I'm hungry". She suddenly said, reminding him that she had not had breakfast, and it was already 12 noon.
"How about you watch the TV while I make something for you to eat. Hmm?"
She nodded and he rubbed her soft hair before going to the kitchen. He planned on making a quick but healthy food for her.
Half way, his phone rang. Gerald was the one calling. He remembered that Lucy and her cohorts were in his hold.
"Hey brother. Its torture having these bastards here and not being able to do anything". Gerald's whiny voice could be heard over the phone.
Lionel's eyes flashed dangerously. One would have expected him to hand them over to the police so as to avoid trouble since his family was already in one, but he wouldn't.
She was someone who he would give his life for, if she wanted him to do so.
He wanted to make them regret what they did. To make them beg like she begged them.
"You can do whatever you like, but you must keep them alive."
"That would be hard, but I'll try anyway." Gerald cut the call after that. He could not wait to start with the ministration.
Susan stood by the door in a daze. He cared about her, so much. She felt it, and also noticed it. She was fortunate to meet someone like him who treated her much better than he treated himself.
"Do you plan on standing there all day."
His voice broke her out of her review. She walked into the kitchen and hugged his waist from behind.
He paused for a second, then continued cooking. A bitter smile could be seen on his face.
He knew that she was only using him as an emotional support for now, until she was fully recovered, but he didn't care.
No matter what it was for, he was already grateful for the opportunity to be this close with her, and happy even if it was just for a moment.
In the military hospital, patriarch Fruancis sat on the bed and played with his great grandson for some time, before gesturing for Vanessa to bring him out.
He needed to speak to Leonardo alone. After the door was closed, the smile on his old face fell.
"What then is the plan?" His voice no longer held much power as before. He was now like any other old and frail Grandpa.
The him now, made Leonardo sad.
"Grandpa you should focus on your recovery. Leave these matters to us, I promise that we will deal with it, and not let ourselves suffer ". He promised. For the sake of his family, he must deal with the Orlando family once and for all.
Patriarch Fruancis nodded. He believed in his grandsons so much that even if they told him that they could bring down the sun, he would believe it without the slightest doubt.
He just felt shocked when he first heard the news and his heart was already weak to begin with, hence the situation.
"Where is Lionel?"
Leonardo rubbed his head. It was a very bothersome question and he didn't know how to answer.
Would his grandpa be sad knowing that his good grandson was busy chasing a woman rather than working or coming to visit him?
"He is on a business trip, grandpa. He said to tell you to get well soon". He quickly made up something to tell him.
"Who is she?" Grandpa Fruancis knew his second grandson too well so although it was unbelievable, he guessed Lionel must be in love because it could not be work that kept him away.
Also his eldest was being dudgy, which made him more certain in his guess. The company was already like this... What other business trip was he on?
"I think the daughter of the President. Not too sure though, you know how your grandson can be with his private life".
Leonardo shook his head. Lionel was so obsessed with being private that most times they do not even know what he was up to.
Grandpa Fruancis laughed so hard that his head ached.
Good.. he just knew that they would be together. He had studied their characters and knew that they were compatible but his stubborn grandson refused to budge.
