Just as expected the next day, the school platform exploded with comments and they were definitely not good.
Gabrielle was worried that Susan would be affected. "Are you okay?"
Susan smiled lightly. "I'm okay. It doesn't really affect me much".
Gabrielle felt that she must be pretending to be strong but in truth, it didn't really bother her what others thought. Her only issue was her parents.
She knew who her mother was. The woman could just appear here out of no where and drag her home to explain things.
She noticed the strange look in Stacy's eyes as she looked at her. She had noticed that Stacy did not like her much but she did not care. She just hoped that she wouldn't be a bother to her.
Because she was bent on dealing with Lucy, as well as any other person who would cause her trouble. Enough of being nice.
Class today was quite uncomfortable as the whole class would stare at her every minute. It was like they wanted to pry her open and fish out all her secrets.
She felt like a prey in the midst of predators... As such, she immediately left after classes.
Today there was only morning classes so she would use this opportunity to rush back home and first explain this to her parents. She was 100 percent sure that they must have heard the news.
Tristan stopped her at the door just as she was about to leave. "You have nothing to do with that man right? Were you schemed against?"
Susan raised an eyebrow in surprise. Why was he bringing this up, what's it to him? Anyway just great. She'll use it to add a few words she was unable to yesterday.
"No, I was not schemed against. He is my fiancee. I was a bit drunk yesterday so he booked a room for me to rest in and then things got.. you know".
She lowered her head shyly.
Tristan felt disgusted. To think that he had actually believed that she was innocent. He was not deceived by her acting.
No powerful man would fall for a girl like her who had no background. She would only be a plaything, one to satiate their lust.
"I feel disgusted that I even thought of asking you out. Who knows how many men you have been with. You're undeserving of the title as the school belle". He spatted and walked away angrily.
Susan was appalled. She never expected that he was nice looking but stupid. Such a waste of looks.
She finally got home after an hour drive. Of course she had her bodyguards bring a car 10 mins away from the university. A cab could not enter the presidential villa.
She met her parents seated and waiting for her. They looked ready for a proper discussion. She suddenly felt like a daughter-in-law meeting her husband's parents for the first time.
"Take a sit Susan".. Mr President spoke first.
Susan felt a bit scared. Her father never calls her Susan but Suzy. She took a sit opposite her parents.
"Explain to me Susan. Who is this man I hear you go involved with?" Mr President made his voice as low as possible so as not frighten her but he needed to know who the bastard was, in order to prepare a good prison for him.
"Dad, mom I'm sorry for not telling you guys in time. I actually met him weeks ago, on the day I was almost robbed, then we met coincidentally a few times and got to know each other. We are trying to get to know each other".
She had already been practicing this line since yesterday so it was easy to get into the act.
"How could you be in a hotel room with a guy you are getting to know? I expect much more from you". Mrs President shook her head in disapproval.
"About that...I was drunk, didn't know what kind of fruit juice it was that I drank but it made me tipsy. Knowing that he was in the same hotel as I, I called him to help me to a room.
"Who knew that some dramatic girl who wanted to catch me in a scandalous situation would barge in with so many of my level mates."
Susan was almost convinced by her story, therefore her parents were not any better. Since the hotel was ran by the Sil tower, and Lionel had asked for every pictures, including the ones in the CCTV camera to be destroyed, they weren't able to find out what really happened.
"Who is this man"?
This question... She had avoided it the first time because she know her parents would want to meet him after knowing who he was but that unfeeling man would definitely not want to help her. Then again she had no choice.. she would think of what to offer him in exchange if her parents ask to meet him.
"He is the second grandson of the Sil family". She finally said.
Mr President looked at his wife in surprise. How did this happen? It definitely was no coincidence was it?
Presently the Fruancis family and the Orlando family were in secret power struggle. If he were them, he would also try to pull in the President's force by pulling his daughter into their family.
No! There was no way he would let his daughter be involved in their conflict lest she be put in a dangerous situation.
"You cannot be with him! Call of any form of relationship you have with him now!"
"What?" Susan shouted unconsciously.
Mrs President thought her daughter was not having it, so she took a a gentler approach. "Their family is not in peace presently, and you being involved with them would be one more trouble to yourself. I know it's hard, but you should understand that your safety is the ultimate".
Susan finally calmed down. She did not hear wrong. Her parents wanted her to end things with him. Ah.. just what she wanted. Ofcourse shs knew she couldn't express her joy as it would be suspicious.
"That's why I drank a lot of fruit juice. I know I couldn't drink wine so I had to drink that because I had already understood that we would not work out and had wanted to end things with him yesterday".
She managed to squeeze out few drops of tears to make it realistic. It was a waste for her not to go into the movie industry.
Mrs President felt pity for her young daughter who was just experiencing love for the first time and had it destroyed even before blooming.
Mr President on the other hand heaved a sigh of relief. It was better that she through herself. At least he wouldn't be the villain.
After settling her parents, she felt a bit relax. Next was to deal with Lucy. She wouldn't be herself if she let it go.
