Chapter-5: One Arrow Two Targets

1493 Words
Swan First day at school was over. Right now my car was cruising around the streets of Huntsville. My stomach was hurting, because we had been laughing like crazy over the itching powder incident. One arrow hitting two targets. Itching powder plan was just for Patrick, but Chase entered the scene and got his ass smacked. Even though I am sure that the yummy dessert, note the sarcasm, was only Patrick's idea but I shouldn't ignore the fact that Chase smirked at me too. Alicia was sitting in the passenger seat beside me laughing her guts out. Yes, she is the reason my plan was successful. So this is what happened... After puking for what seemed like an hour, I was absolutely drained as my head and stomach were both hurting. I had to go to the emergency room for medicines. It was while lying there that, I thought of this remarkable plan. As soon as the school finished, I told Alicia about the itching powder and we went to Walmart shop and brought it with us. Alicia included herself in the plan just in case Patrick tried to take my phone away from me. I got my revenge. The end. Alicia now ask to stop at an ice-cream parlour. "Oh god! Phyre. It was amazing, so many events in a single day." Alicia said "I know. Even Chase was put in place." "His face was priceless." "Hmmm." I replied. "Both of us are really tired, we'll take up the exploring venture tomorrow. Is that okay with you?" She asked. "Yeah, I was going to ask you the same thing." She bought double scooped strawberry and I bought my usual dark chocolate chip. "I f*****g hate that guy." I mumbled out of the blue. "Who? Patrick?" Alicia faced me as we sat on the hood of my car, lapping onto our ice creams. "Yeah. He is super irritating." "If you slapped him...then he must be. But isn't he hot enough to be drooled over?" She asked, sighing. "Yeah, he maybe hot but that doesn't make him amiable. I would rather have him screwed." Honestly, I was pretty pissed off, at that dude. I might just strangle him if I see him again. "He is a perfect guy to fall in love with, Phyre. Don't you think you'll fall for him, if these pranks continue?" "What? No, babe. I won't, he looks like he is in deep s**t. I wouldn't want to love a sadist like him. He is way out of my league." She had finished her ice cream by then. "So, what prank next? Breaking the bad boy's heart?" "Well, that would require a lot of work, I'd rather break something that's important to him." I told her. I wouldn't want a bad boy falling for me, don't want a stalker now, do I? "So, is the plan being processed?" She asked. "Hmmm. Maybe. We'll get him off guard." Soon enough, we reached her house. It was a big cream coloured one with large windows and a beautiful garden at the sides, which had yellow and blue coloured flowers in bloom. We said our quick goodbyes and I turned my car for home. Huntsville was a beautiful place, it was in the mountainous region of Alabama, surrounded by lots of greenery. There should be rivers or ponds here which I must find, It has been only a week away from swimming and I am already craving it. Yes, swimming has always been my first love, I was 6 when I first learned to swim and since then its my favourite pass time and the best stress reliever. I like the way water supports my weight and helps me glide through it without any interruption. When I look into its depth, I feel a sense of calm rush over me, and my body relaxes. Texas had a lot of opportunities for young swimmers. I had won 2 gold medals representing the state in National Games. The drive lasted only for 20 minutes and I was at home. I took out the keys and opened the front door to our mini mansion. My parents were rich, not the stinking kinda rich but pretty rich. The mansion had two floors. I had my room on the first floor and my parents were on ground floor. It had a large kitchen with an even larger dining area and had a hall at the end. I saw dad at the table munching on some tacos. Oh! How he loved Mexican food. "Hey dad, you, home early today?" I asked dragging out a chair. "No, I came early to check on my beautiful daughter. How was your first day at the new school?" He beamed. I grabbed an apple from the island and sat back. Yes! I did love apples. "It was tiring dad. Too much for the first day." "It's okay sweetheart I know you'll manage and Huntsville is a good place, you'll love it here." He said. "I hope so dad." I grumbled. "Okay babe, I have prepared some tacos for you because your mum and I will come back late today. We are going on a date." He winked. "I'll just go now and pick her up from the institute." "Date huh? Without me?" I asked laughing. My parents were always sappy romantics. It was unbelievable to hear that, once my dad used to be a bad boy and mum and him fell in love, just like that. "You asked something like that when you were five. You were looking at our wedding photographs and started arguing with us, why you weren't invited to the wedding." I snickered in response, how naive of me. I wasn't even born at that time. Stupid five year old mind. "Okay sweetheart, lock the door and call if you need anything." "Okay. Bye dad." After quickly finishing the tacos, I went upstairs to my room. It looked like someone ransacked it, the way my stuff and suitcases were thrown around. I am not usually messy but I was really tired yesterday to unpack and settle my stuff. It took me one complete hour to put everything in place and when my room was perfectly organised I jumped onto the bed, grabbed my phone and called Stacy. My cousin from Texas and my best friend. Stacy was barbie like, she had beautiful golden locks and blue eyes. She was really beautiful. Both of us had been popular in school, she was the cheer captain and I was the swim team captain. "Phyreeeeee." She squeaked so loudly into the phone that I had to move it away to prevent my eardrums from any serious damage. "Calm down Stacy." "Oh god! I miss you so much, sis. I was so lonely the whole day at school." "I miss you too Stacy. But I can't believe you were lonely, you never are, where were those bitches who always follow you?." "Staying with them is equivalent to being lonely. All they talk about is fashion and hair color and stuff. They are no fun." "Hmmm. I found a great friend, she is pretty nice. And I had a day which was not even close to boring." I said smugly. "Phyre Jade Swan... Tell me about it right now." I stiffened at my full name, nobody used it now after what happened 9 years ago. Stacy soon realised her mistake. "I am sorry Phyre I got carried away." "Its okay." I said, my eyes were burning with unshed tears. "You know Phyre, it was not your fault, and you are not the only one who misses her." She said in a soothing tone. "I'll talk to you later, Stacy. Bye." Before she could reply I hung up. I couldn't talk about it, and I knew it was my fault, whatever happened that night. It was all my fault and I deserve the suffering which came after it. I opened my laptop to distract myself and logged onto my f*******: profile. It was loaded with requests. Blake Ryder... He was Alicia's psychology partner. Accept. Marie Santiago. I don't know her but she goes to Ravenport. Accept. Alicia Ranger. Obviously accept. Chase Kingsleigh. Oooo... Yes, now, I remember that I have to post that video. Accept. I quickly uploaded the video from my phone, tagged Alicia and Chase and posted it. Within moments it had likes and comments. "I knew, he was suffering from a disease." One said. "He looks so adorable while scratching himself." Definitely a girl. "Is he possessed?" Mission Accomplished. I got my revenge. Well, now I couldn't wait for the next day at school. It was already late so I decided to go to bed. I changed into my shorts and switched of the main light leaving the lamp on. I can never sleep in dark. I can't even breathe when its dark. And that's my punishment for being responsible, for someone's death.
