CHAPTER EIGHT THE CANNIBALS’ ISLAND
They took twenty days to double the Antilles islands.
The southern windward islands made a sort of bow, stretching east of the Caribbean Sea. Each of them had a mainly volcanic conformation. The vegetation was thick and flourishing, composed of very tall palm trees and arboreal ferns.
The Queen Anne’s Revenge was sailing very fast before the wind and its route was going to take it near shallow water. Blackbeard gave some instructions to Stubb, reminding him to be careful.
They met several crafts during their journey. None of them showed any signs of wanting to get closer, not even pirates: the Kalinagos’ island was too close, so they didn’t want to waste time in useless boarding.
