Chapter 02 "Do you come with a f*****g manual or some-?" Ryan had just asked and felt his father's energy behind his back. "So you both have met." Ryan stood rigid. Father- his thought was cut off as he felt a hand on his back. "I'm so pleased to have you here to accompany us, Kayden. Especially this silly dilly, haha." Ryan felt the thud as his father patted his back and the thunder of his father's voice almost rattled him down the ground. Not you too father. Ryan groaned. From the corner of his eye he noticed Kayden pressing his lips together in a thin yet unnoticeable smirk. Piss off! Ryan mentally grumbled and Kayden raised his eyebrows, amusing much? "Likewise, Alpha. I'm pleased to be here. I hope to serve till I'm no longer needed." Kayden spoke making Ryan tilt his head slightly, his eyes growing onto Ryan, more like burning into him. Kayden had bowed and moved around leaving Ryan baffled, almost dizzy with the sugary scent in the air. What in the world did the freak just say? Is he our friggin slave or something? What rubbish! Is he gonna follow me everywhere!? What a sour face pretender...! So much for that formal s**t. Ryan huffed and decided to finally leave the room as Diana had pushed him towards a group of chatting people, to her surprise, in less than a minute, Ryan was out the door towards his room. ⚜️ Kayden settled in his guest room far away from the pack member rooms in the pack house. Likewise, his other gals were in the nearby rooms. The sun was almost up, small specks of sun rays peeked in the room inbetween the blinders and somehow his body couldn't seem to rest. Keeping him at the edge, tonight was loaded with things he had always been to except that ape. An unknowing smile swept across his usually bored face as his upper teeth dug into his lower lip, definitely not helping the smile. As he lay down, the cute chubby face of Ryan kept popping up. "You didn't have to be so mean to him, you know?" Kayden talked to himself, his right arm resting effortlessly under his head. "Ha ha, had you seen his face when you had raised your hand? So naive! Okay, it's nothing special. Chill out." Kayden rolled over, telling himself again of what and why he had come here in the first place and not to be swayed off his feet. Still finding it hard to pay attention to anything but Ryan, that whiny flustered brat. Kayden smiled to himself remembering how he had left Ryan standing there all confused like a penguin. He's definitely not an ape. ⚜️ The day seemed to be passing by smoothly, all fellow vampires and werewolves were seated in the big study hall accompanied by the guest of honor, the blind soothsayer. Ryan's father, the Alpha of Crystal Blue Moon Pack seated right beside the old blind soothsayer, with Kayden as the head of his fellow vampires on the left of the old man, awfully nervous about what the man had to break down to them. Kayden's curious eyes looked for Ryan. Unconsciously as Diana caught him and gave a tilted nod towards him asking if he was okay. Kayden nodded in response as he was struck with a cool tingly breeze. Ryan walked from behind him towards an empty chair beside Alpha, with a slight sneer on his face. "Yes, I got it, you can be a brat and I can't be an asshole. Great." Kayden mumbled to himself looking elsewhere. "Hey it's time..." Kayden looked at Ryan. His soft voice had caught him totally off his brooding rock. "Huh? Time for?" "It's time to go collect your trophy of being a perfect asshole." Kayden pressed his lips together, Ryan's smug face was something of a whole new level. Even the word 'asshole' added beauty to his features. Kayden hid his embarrassed smile as he swept his tongue over his upper front teeth. "Hey- don't start you two!" Diana whispered standing behind Ryan. "Not right now.." She gave a slight squeeze to Ryan's shoulder and went to sit on her seat. ⚜️ Everyone now seemed to be present in the hallway, settled on whatever they could find. "So, we gotta help eachother?" Liam asked breaking the awfully cruel silence. "You heard the man dude." Phillip spoke running a hand through his hair. "More like the old goat..." Liam felt the urge to smack Phillip but Sam beat him to it. "Cut it out okay. This is a serious matter." Philip groaned and looked straight at Sam. "How would you know? You've been sucking Daniel's face all day..." And here came another smack. "Owh! Would you stop hitting like a bloody man? Guys, can you believe this woman..." Philip whined as he buried his head into Liam. "Yes, sweetheart, that bloody woman is your sister. I'm gonna laugh my ass off if you both fight again!" Liam choked on his own words. And the room roared with laughter. Kayden stood leaning on the door frame. A slight smile tugging at his lips, slender well built arms resting across his chest. "It's so good to see everyone going along. Isn't it?" Kayden turned to look at Diana as she stood next to him. "Yes, it is. Unbelievably good." Kayden smiled. He had considered the option of standing in between them and telling them to cut the crap and bear with everything. But here he was, feeling all bubbly looking at both species getting along, utterly well to his surprise. "I just hope he gets along with you..." The strain in Diana's voice was evident. She looked tired and sounded tired. "He'll come around..." Kayden said, "Eventually." "I hope so. Heh. If you need anything-" "Thanks." Kayden smiled at her. "-ask Ryan. Okay?" Diana finished and chuckled at him. "Uh, okay." Kayden rubbed his neck and shook his head, the embarrassment cooking him real good. Weird brother and sister duo I'm gonna deal with in the next couple of months. ⚜️ "What an ass!" Ryan muttered as he continued to walk away and away from the pack house. My special secret place, here I come. "I will do everything in my power~" Ryan imitated Kayden's thick voice in a low cringe voice with a scoff. "Asshole in making at it's best." Ignoring where he was stepping, his wolf ears perked out as he stepped in a hollow space and felt his body jerk forward and down. Apparently he needed more physical training. "Argh-" Ryan's voice cut off as he felt himself being lifted up and out. Huh? He tilted his head to look behind and a familiar face surprised him. "You!" Ryan gasped, wriggling to get out of his grip. "What?" The voice laughed placing Ryan aside the hollow dip in the way. "You can't just show up after disappearing for God knows how long!" Ryan complained, his anger and disbelief showing, in small attempts at hitting rock fists at the broad chest in front of him. "Whoa, okay. I'm here now." The man held out onto Ryan's wrists. A small cocky smile playing at his lips. "Not even a sorry? Unbelievable!" Ryan scoffed looking elsewhere, his attention away from trying to free his hands. Keep holding me. Secretly he liked being held. "Would sorry cut it?" The man asked in a smug voice. "Nope. Never ever. You're a meanie Mathew!" Ryan whined, his bratty side taking over. "Aww, someone missed me. So cute-" Mathew teased and got hit in his lower ribs by Ryan's elbow attack. "Oofh! What-" "Stop being hilarious, you're not." Ryan said getting his legs to work and walk away. Somewhere Ryan felt torn inside. This had always been right but somehow it felt wrong now. "Okay cutie, I'm sorry. I told you why I'm going, right? I had to go..." Mathew tried to catch up to him, walking behind him. It was noon, the sun was setting behind the trees, the sky wearing a shy orange pink shade, birds busy flying home. "Yeah, I remember." Ryan answered breathing in the sweet scent of water gushing down the streams. Somehow, the sweet scent reminded him of the new scent he had encountered during the last 2 days in his pack house. "Awwh, if that isn't love, what is?" Ryan rolled his eyes and tried hard not to murder Mathew on the spot. "Cut it or I will." Ryan glared his way. "Someone's in a bad mood." Mathew spoke sitting on a broken tree trunk just beside a fresh water stream making a little pond. "Yeah! I'm in a shitty mood. Thanks to everything. As always" Ryan exclaimed throwing his hands around. "Awh, I wonder what happened this time-" "It's just shitty. That's all." "C'mon! There must be more to it." Ryan didn't like this unnecessary poking but that's how he had remembered Mathew helping him out. ⚜️ "So now you gonna be busy as the Alpha-To-Be eh?" Mathew asked curious out of his head. "No, who said that?" "Isn't that what your father wants?" "I don't care what he want. All I know is, I do what I want to." "Ooh, feisty. Like always." "Damn you Mathew! I got loads of s**t on my plate already." "Hey, okay. Aright. No poking here." Every time Ryan used to snuck out all furious and mad. He's the one that helped calm him down. He's the one, Ryan could always count on. Mathew proved to be a good listener and Ryan could actually use his advice. "Yeah, now there's this babysitter I've to deal with." Ryan palmed his face as Mathew's bubbly face kept ticking him off. "How cute~" "Enjoy it while it lasts, I won't be alone the next time. And who knows for how long you'll stick around this time." Ryan felt it again. This feeling that kept bugging him ever since a group of "helper" vampires had shown up at his pack house. "Can I?" Ryan looked at Mathew unsure of what he had said, "What?" "You sure you didn't miss me?" Mathew moved closer almost some inches away from Ryan's confused face, but something had been replaced by what he called feelings. Ryan felt himself repulsed and jerked back a little. "Yup. Damn sure." And with that he got up to head back, it seemed a lot darker than he had intended to leave at. Oofh, Diana's gonna be pissed! ⚜️?⚜️ *20 yrs ago * "And I'm a good boy right mommeh?" A cheerful 3 yr old Ryan asked through a gummy smile holding onto the index finger of his mother as they walked together through the forest. "You're the sweetest, my boy. You're so good. It hurts." Mother spoke in a sad voice trying not to spill the tears in front of her naive boy. "Mommeh? It hurts...? Where?" Ryan's little fingers roamed around his mother's legs trying to find the hurt spot. Mother smiled and pecked her boy on the cheek. "It hurts here my boy." She placed his hand on her heart. "Why does it hurt here mommeh?" Ryan asked, his eyes twinkling in contrast to the settling sun behind her. "Because I love you my child." Mother spoke as a single tear ran down her cheek. "Just remember this, you have a lot of time my child, grow up and be who you want yo be. Serve through your actions and not your words. You are who you want to be." Ryan giggled in response. "Why are you giggling, sunshine?" "That mister says this too!" Ryan squealed as his mother held him from both forearms, kneeling in front of him. "Who said that? What do you mean?" The words stumbled out of mother's mouth as she shook little Ryan. "That mister who came to visit you mommeh... He says I was born in his hands." Mother looked at Ryan, wide eyed as realization dawned on her. "Did that- That person had light brown hair? I mean, uhh... was he wearing something like this?" Mother fumbled with her silver pendant dangling around her neck. Ryan grasped the pendant in his little hands as teary eyes of his mother awaited his response. "Well... It was like this, only blue." Ryan shook his head as his mother cried and took him in her arms. "My child! How can I let this happen!? I told you to stay away from him! Or tell me if you see him! Oh Moon mother, what do I do? Did you see him often? Did he come to meet you everyday?" Mother panicked dragging along a confused and scared Ryan behind her. "This won't do! We shouldn't be here..." Why can't we be here? Little Ryan wondered, it seemed like a normal walk in their normal life, then why? ⚜️?⚜️
