"Charlie?" Elen's voice trembled. She felt a tightness in her chest at the look of sadness on Charlie's face. She clearly heard that Charlie was telling about his bitter memories. It made Elen start to feel guilty and she shouldn't have heard that from Charlie.
Seeing Elen's nervousness, Charlie gave her a gentle smile. He didn't want Elen to be restless because of this.
"It's okay, Elen! I really wanted to tell you! You know what? I've never told anyone anything about myself. I don't want other people to feel sorry for me."
"But you were dumped by your dad, Charlie! Why would he do that?"
"Maybe he thinks I'm just a nuisance or maybe he wants to get rid of me, so he doesn't have to remember the pain of my mom's death. I can't blame him because I can understand how much he loves my mom
