The private luxury auto show at the Javits Center opened its doors at 9:30 a.m. Liam Thorne had set his alarm for 7:30 a.m. He got up, showered, dressed, and was about to head out when he ran into his roommate, Julian, who was also emerging from his room. "Liam, man, you’re looking sharp today. Big day?" Julian had graduated a couple of years ago and worked as a QA engineer for a gaming startup in Brooklyn.
