After hanging up the phone, Liam couldn't help but glance at his watch; it was 5:42 PM. The wall lamps in the presidential suite's study at The Pierre emitted a soft, warm glow, chasing away the early evening shadows. The study, while slightly compact compared to the grand living room, was impeccably furnished. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves lined the walls, and a heavy mahogany desk anchored the space. A pale cream Persian rug covered the floor, and a vintage Tiffany-style floor lamp gleamed in the corner, its stained glass casting colorful patterns. Behind the desk, the heavy velvet curtains were drawn back just enough to reveal the Manhattan skyline.
