Bexley I could not pull away from the hold he had me in. All I could do was stare at his mesmerizing emerald green eyes. I didn't understand this feeling, even my wolf was confused. 'Why do we feel like this' I asked her. 'I don't understand either, but he is so good-looking." Annie said, humming in my head. My eyes watched as his traveled down my body making me feel electricity jolt me awake as if I'd been dormant all my life. I bit down on my lower lip feeling shy, embarrassed, and vulnerable. That, however, brought an intense glow in his eyes as they watched me gripping onto my lip for dear life. It only made him lick his lips and that alone made me burn like the sun. I knew my cheeks were burning red, and I rushed to hide in Brady's embrace. That made his eyes squint to Brady behind me, aiming all hell towards him. Suddenly, nothing made sense and I felt so dirty and wrong. As if he was telling me to let go, I felt the urge to listen to him, but as I was about to pull away Steph walked over, pulling me out of his trance. "Hey baby, miss me." She said, sticking her tongue down his throat. He didn't push her away nor did he welcome her either, all he did was stare at me while she kissed him. I suddenly wanted to rip her head off, but at the same time I felt disgusted. This was getting too confusing so I just looked away and back to my friends whom were suddenly walking away. By the looks of it Dexton must have seen them too and walked away with Trenton behind him. "Alright, let's go celebrate!" Reed said pulling the rest of the group to follow. "Bet! Don't forget to bring us food!" Maeve said, waving them off. "I'm going to shower and change here sis, I'll pick you guys up at the house when I'm done." Jason said, giving me one last hug before walking off with the rest. "Uh-huh." I said looking down. I fought the urge to turn back around to see if Steph still had her tongue down his throat, but I was too afraid to look as I felt this big lump in my throat. I was finally starting to understand why all the girls were crazy for him. Gosh I can't be one of his fan girls. The dude was a player and cocky at that. I was so lost in my head I hadn't notice Maeve and Liza were extremely silent until we got into Maeve's car. "Okay!! What was that?" Liza said breaking the silence. "What was what?" I said, staring out the window. "Don't play that game with us, we saw the way you and Anderson eye f*****g each other." Maeve said, bringing my attention back to the car. "Wait? You saw that? I mean....I don't know? That was weird." I said, looking down at my hands, because suddenly they were the most important thing in the car. "Are you blushing?" Maeve said, grabbing my face in between her hands. "Holy f***, Bexley Evans is blushing and crushing on the Alpha Male." She laughed. "What happened to and I quote, 'I don't get what everyone sees in him?' Ha I knew you could't resist him. The dude is a god." Maeve said juggling my cheeks back and forth, making me feel even more embarrassed. "Look at you growing up so fast." Liza said, pretending to wipe a tear away. I could feel my face burning up even more. "It's.." I didn't even know what to say. I was speechless, because what the f**k was that? "I knew you'd come around. OMG WHAT IF HE'S YOUR MATE!" Maeve squealed. "Ugh you would get him as your mate, you're so lucky Bex!" Liza pouted in the back seat. What no? He couldn't be, plus he just had Steph down his throat. If I was his mate, he wouldn't do that...or would he? I couldn't get my hopes up. I shouldn't be acting like this. I don't even want a mate right now, what am I thinking. 'He's hot remember and that's our type' purred my wolf. "Guys, stop. Please, he's not my mate. He wouldn't have been all over Steph if he was. Can we go now." I said looking at the time. The guys were probably done showering by now. "Technically, Steph was all over him, but he is a playboy. Girls throw themselves at him all the time." Liza thought to herself. "If he is I swear I'll hit him where it hurts, I don't care who he is." Maeve said, starting the car to head to my house. The rest of the car ride was filled with Liza and Maeve's screams to Selena Gomez's 'The Heart Wants What It Wants'. Oldie, but a goodie. I tried to concentrate on their voices, but all I could think about was Anderson and it was driving me insane. I couldn't believe I've managed to avoid him all this time, like how have I not seen him before? I mean he was the future Alpha of our rivalry pack, but still EVERY girl knew about him, but me. The song was starting to make me feel a type of way so I skipped it. "Hey, what did you do that for!" Lilli said throwing daggers at me with her eyes. "It was getting to the good part!" Alice added. The next song playing was 'I'm Yours' by Isabel LaRosa, I changed that real quick. Then 'Jump' by Julia Michaels started playing and before I could change it again, Maeve slapped my hand away. "Leave it! That's my favorite song!" She said, putting the volume up. Even her playlist was killing me. Dear Moon Goddess, please get that boy out of my head. As we pulled up to my house, I rushed in to find mom was not home yet, she was always staying late to help with the concession stands for the football booster club. I texted her to let her know I was going to the victory bonfire and not to wait up. The girls rushed into my room with their make-up bags and change of clothes. We instantly started getting ready. We all had different yet similar styles. Maeve was always wearing crop tops, high wasted jeans with heels. While Liza was always wearing skirts with blouses and flats. I on the other hand was a mixture of both, since they loved to play dress up with me and always picked out my outfits. "Okay do you think smokey eye shadow goes good with my red hair?" Maeve said, putting her hair in a side braid. She always did her hair like that when she was planning to get drunk, more like wasted. "Is that supposed to be a hard question?" Liza said, straightening her short blonde hair. She was like a porcelain barbie doll with light skin and perfectly blond hair. "You can never go wrong with smokey eye shadow." I said, curling my long jet black hair. The girls always said my sapphire blue eyes always made my hair look like it had a blue tint to it, but that was just how dark my hair was. "How many neighboring packs do you think will come?" Maeve said geeking out. Our neighbor packs always came to our bonfires if they didn't already have a game. We all went to each others except for Oakhaven's of course. And seeing as we just played the championship game, all of them would be there. All of them but Oakhaven. "Probably all of them." I winked at her knowing she was going to have a blast searching for boys. Once we finished our make up and hair we put on our outfits. They had both chosen a mini skirt and crop top with thigh high boots for me to wear. I liked it, it was cute and sassy. "Can we all just talk about how tan you are! Like how is that even possible, your mom is as pale as a ghost yet you and Jason always have the perfect tan." Maeve said, putting shimmer on my belly, because that would help me pop out under the moon. Her exact words, not mine. "We got it from our dad's side." I said, looking at the only picture I had of dad resting at my bedside. He was holding me in his arms with Jason hugging his leg. "Jason looks so much like him." Liza said, going over to our picture. "Bright blue eyes with dark hair. Yum." Maeve said, batting her eyes. I rolled my eyes as Jason knocked on our door. "You ladies ready?" He asked. "Did you bring food?" I hollered as I zipped on my last boot. "Yes?" I heard him chuckle. I sniffed the air to the smell of McDonalds. "Okay you can come in." I said eager to get a McChicken in my hand. He stopped and stared at us more like at me with a disapproving look. Not this again. "Do you not own longer skirts?" He said with disgust. "No." I said, grabbing the bag of food out of his hand. "Damn, y'all look hot." Brady said, walking in with a burger. I took a bit out of his burger while I gave him a smile. "At least someone appreciates how good I look." I joked with French fries now in my mouth. "Okay ladies let's go!" I heard Reed yell from downstairs. "Oooh sounds like someone's in a hurry to go see their mate?" I said, teasing Reed. We all knew he was secretly dating one of the she-wolfs in our pack. I don't know why, but he always denied it. "You mean girlfriends, as in multiple." He corrected. He was such a goofball, but then again, not wrong. He was always the kind of guy that couldn't settle on just one. "Reed, we all know you are only talking about one girl." Maeve teased. She always liked to pick on him, but he always got her back. "Is that right, how did you know I was talking about you." He said winking at her. She blushed and rushed out the door, her joke back firing on her. Liza and I burst out laughing. "Just you wait, I will get you when you least expect it!" Maeve yelled from the SUV . The whole ride there, Reed and Maeve kept teasing each other, leading to Reed winning every time. "Finally we're here!" Brady said as Reed drove us into the first clearing where all the cars were parked for the bonfire. "What the hell? Why are they here?" Reed said, sniffing the air. It looked like Oakhaven was also here and that sounded like trouble. They never once came to one of our bonfires before, especially ones celebrating a victory against them. We started walking out to the second clearing where the bonfire was held with a huge shed of booze. "Guys, let's just enjoy the night and ignore them. Tonight is our night!" I said, heading to the kegs that were calling my name. I wasn't a huge fan of drinking, but knowing Anderson might be here suddenly gave me the urge to change that. "Hold it there princess." Jason said, holding me back. "I promise, not to get too drunk. Scouts honor." I said, lifting my right hand. "One drink, that's it." He said, piercing his eyes right through me, meaning business. Again, he really took his big brother role seriously. "Five." I said, giving him puppy dog eyes. "One." He countered, making me roll my eyes. "Two." I said, giving him a peck on the cheek. "Fine, but nothing more." He said, letting me go. With the all clear, Liza and Maeve rushed with me to the keg and filled a cup only to chug it down. This beer wasn't like normal. It had a kick to help wolves like us get drunk and feel all the things of being drunk. "You know I'm only drinking, because you're drinking right." Liza said, filling her cup back up again. "And I'm drinking, because I want to get f****d up!" Maeve said, chugging her second cup down. I loved them so much. Tonight was going to be a good night and I wasn't going to let anyone change that. The girls and I rushed off to the dance floor with Brady hot on our trail. "What's with the drinking tonight, buttercup?" Brady said, looking at my new full cup defying Jason's demands. Did I forget to mention I loved who Brady called me buttercup? That's how we connected actually, it was very cliche, but we both reached for the same buttercup cupcake at a pack ceremony and hit it off from there. That's why sometimes I think hes my happily ever after. We would find out soon enough, when we turn 17. "I'm living on the edge tonight." I smirked, bringing the cup to my lips. "Oooo sounds tempting." He said, grabbing my cup and taking a sip. We danced the night away with Maeve making sure I always had a full cup in my hand. Liza only drank three cups, because she hated drinking. Frankly, I did too, but the sudden urge to drink had consumed me. Brady put his hands around my waist, and we swayed to the beat of the song, No Limit, by G-Eazy. Tonight already felt perfect. "Grrr" I heard someone growl behind us. It brought shivers down my back, but that could also be due to the alcohol. I continued to sway my hips rubbing my ass closer to Bradys front as he gripped my hips closer. I chuckled as he brought his lips to my ear "I like this fun you." he whispered. "Rude, I thought I was always fun." I said, looking up at him pushing him away lightly, only to turn around around and grip his shirt pulling him closer to me. We heard another growl and it sounded possessive and angry. By the sounds of it, it was probably a male wolf being a jealous mate or something causing a scene. Gosh, those things were annoying, but we all got used it so much that we didn't let it ruin the party and ignored it. Boy did I feel bad for that she-wolf, because he sounded mad mad. I felt Liza shake my arm and my eyes went to her face as she singled me to look ahead. I looked in that direction and caught Dexton, Trenton, Jason and Reed were all dancing with some girls on the other side. "So that's who Reed's girlfriend is." she added taking a picture on her phone. They were so going to use that against him later. "Better have got a good one, because I'm using this for blackmail." Maeve slurred as she chugged more of her beer. "Here, smile." Liza said, capturing a picture of Brady and I. "b***h, what about me and us." Maeve said pulling Liza so we could all take a selfie. "Much better." Maeve said as she chugged another cup down. "Alice, slow down." I said, already feeling tipsy myself. If she kept it up at this rate she'd be blackout drunk. She ignored us and we all kept dancing once again for a while. "Girl Talk." Maeve suddenly slurred as she stole me away from Brady's arms and rushed me into the trees. "Hey I was having fun." I giggled. "A slut is dancing with my man, oh she's going to get it." She said talking about Jason and the brunette he was dancing with before her hands went up to her mouth. Oh no.... "Do you want me to hold your hair back?" I giggled as I held onto her French braid and she hurled next to a tree. "Here you are." A voice said from behind me through gritted teeth. That voice made my heart start beating way too fast, and I was in no condition to deal with the person behind me as I stood there holding Maeve's braid back while she vomits. So I ignored him like I didn't hear him. "Turn around." He demanded, sounding inpatient. I dropped her braid and turned around. How the hell did he have this power over me? I turned around only to lock in his bright green eyes as he said the words I hoped not to hear "Mate"
