Chapter 13: The Devil Cries Too

821 Words
The apartment was quiet, but the tension was palpable, heavy, suffocating. Every shadow seemed to hold a secret, every glance carried the weight of unspoken desires and dangerous possibilities. She had thought she could contain the storm swirling around Dominic and Brian, but it was unraveling faster than she could control. Dominic stood near the window, the city lights reflecting in his dark eyes. He looked powerful, dangerous, irresistible. But tonight, there was something different—a recklessness, a hunger that made her pulse race and her chest ache. “You’ve been hiding something,” he murmured, voice low, dangerous. “Every lie, every half-truth, every hesitation—it’s all here, in your eyes.” She swallowed hard, heart racing. “I’m not… hiding anything,” she whispered, but even she knew the words rang hollow. Dominic’s lips curved in a slow, knowing smile. “Don’t lie to me. I can see it—the cracks, the trembling, the desire you try to bury. You belong to me, every piece, every thought, and yet you try to resist.” Brian couldn’t ignore it any longer. He had pieced together too many moments, glimpsed too many stolen glances, and his fear had become unbearable. He needed to see the truth, even if it meant confronting it in the most brutal way. He pulled up outside her apartment, hands shaking as he clutched the keys. Every instinct screamed to storm inside, to demand answers, to protect her from Dominic’s growing recklessness. He imagined confronting her, holding her close, shielding her from the pull of the man who was crossing every boundary. His chest tightened as he watched through the window—Dominic leaning close, hands on her, whispering words that made her shiver, gasping at touches Brian couldn’t reach. Anger, fear, and desire twisted together, coiling inside him like a living thing. He couldn’t bear it, but he also couldn’t look away. “This isn’t right,” he whispered under his breath, voice rough with emotion. “I can’t lose you… I won’t.” Dominic moved closer, deliberately, a predator and a lover wrapped into one. He brushed her hair behind her ear, traced a finger along her jaw, and whispered, “You’re mine, completely. And you know it.” Her breath caught, chest rising and falling rapidly. She wanted to fight, to resist, but every nerve ending screamed for him. Every touch, every word, every lingering glance pulled her deeper into his orbit. “You can’t deny it,” he continued, voice low, hypnotic. “You crave me. You need me. And tonight, you’ll surrender completely.” She trembled, leaning into him despite the fear, despite the guilt. Her mind screamed of Brian, of the love and loyalty she still carried. But her body betrayed her, shivering, gasping, responding in ways that made her heart ache and her resolve crumble. Suddenly, Brian’s knock at the door shattered the moment. She froze, heart pounding, every nerve alight. Dominic’s eyes darkened with a mix of irritation and challenge. Brian’s voice trembled. “I need to know the truth… now.” Dominic’s smile was slow, dangerous. “The truth, Brian? The truth is… she belongs to me in ways you can’t even imagine.” Brian’s hands shook as he pushed the door open. The sight of them together, so close, so intimate, made his chest ache. His voice broke, raw with emotion. “How could you… do this to me? To us?” The tension was unbearable. Dominic stepped closer, deliberately positioning himself between them, his dark gaze daring Brian to act. “She’s chosen,” Dominic said smoothly, voice low and controlling. “And no one will take her from me—not you, not anyone.” She stepped back, torn between two men, her body still trembling from Dominic’s touch but her heart breaking for Brian. “Please… stop,” she whispered, tears pricking her eyes. “I can’t…” Dominic leaned close, pressing his lips briefly to her temple, a final, tantalizing claim. “It’s too late,” he whispered. “You’ve already crossed the line.” Brian’s chest tightened, every emotion raw and unbearable. He wanted to fight, to pull her into his arms, to reclaim her. But Dominic’s presence was magnetic, overwhelming, a force neither of them could deny. She stood between them, trembling, heart torn, body aching with desire, guilt, and fear. The room was charged with tension so thick it could be cut with a knife. Every heartbeat, every breath, every glance escalated the danger. Outside, the city continued unaware, but inside, the world had narrowed to three people, one apartment, and the impossible choices that lay before them. Her world was unraveling. Dominic’s recklessness had pushed them all to the brink, and nothing would ever be the same. Every secret, every touch, every confession teetered on the edge of exposure—and the fallout would be catastrophic.
