CHAPTER 61

CHAPTER 61 NOVA'S POV How am I supposed to react to someone telling me that I am not supposed to exist? I don't know, I am just standing there, unable to say a word. “Tell us everything that is stated there,” Cassian says, and Killian shoots him a look. “You don't have to boss him around,” I say calmly, and Cassian doesn't look too happy with whatever I have said. It doesn't matter at that point. I just want to know what Killian is seeing. It doesn't matter if he can't read everything. What he sees is enough to make him worried. “Okay,” Killian says, licking his lips. “There were once two bloodlines. Gold vessels, and silver vessels. They were opposites, but connected. And when they are united, they could either stabilize the world, or destroy it completely.” I know that I am not supposed to, but my mind immediately goes to the silver eyed girl that I usually see in my visions. Is she somehow connected to me? Is that the reason why she is close to me? Is that why she managed to contact me? At the same time, I know that I am not supposed to trust all of my visions. “Is that everything it says?” Cassian asks, and Killian shoots him a look again. “The least you can do is thank me from your sorry ass, Cassian,” Killian says. Cassian looks down at me. “He could be lying for all we know. He can be unnecessarily dramatic.” Killian raises his hands in the air, like he is fed up. I hate to say it to Cassian, but I have to. “I don't think he has a reason to do that. Besides, I've had visions of the silver eyed girl,” I say, and Cassian looks away. At that moment, I feel trapped between Cassian's protectiveness, and the information that his brother might have. Killian is being honest from what I can see. But so far, his honesty is still dangerous. And I don't even know if he could actually be trusted. Cassian has to be worried for a reason, right? There are definitely more to their tiffs. “What are the three of you doing there? You have a death wish, right?” someone screams below, and Beatrice comes into sight. She doesn't look too pleased. “Nothing's happening here,” Killian quickly says, and she shoots him a look. “Maybe you're forgetting that the temple is actually in ruins, and it might collapse any time. Now, get down.” There is something in her voice that makes her sound scared. But scared of what? Besides, Beatrice doesn't look like the kind of woman that actually gets scared. I have to be imagining things. Cassian extends his hand for me to take again, and I don't hold back this time. Killian is the first one to head out of the temple, and Cassian and I get down next. “Find me before he does,” I hear a voice call out, and I could swear that I recognize it as the silver eyed girl's voice. Her voice is real. At this point, I know that I am not imagining it. She is real. By the time we get back to the pack, I should have known that someone has gone around, talking about the thing that I had done. “You still brought her back?” one of the wolves asks, walking over to Cassian. It is the first time that I have seen any of them talk to him like that. I take a step back, immediately feeling guilty about what is happening. They are talking to him like that because of me. “What is wrong with you?” Cassian thunders. “And what are you talking about?” He looks around, noticing that the others are waiting to see what he is going to do. “Bringing her back to the pack, Alpha. You already know how much of a danger she is. Maybe you should just hand her over to the people that want her. As some kind of peace offering.” Cassian looks over at the guards around. “Seize him,” Cassian thunders. The guards immediately seize the man, and he is already going down on his knees, begging for mercy. “I didn't say this to get killed, please,” he begs, with tears flowing down his face. He looks over at me. “Say something!” I can barely get my mouth to work. Killian's statement about my kind causing wars is in my head, and I can barely function. Maybe the man is right. Jason and Beatrice immediately get involved. “You can't just kill him, Cassian,” Beatrice says and Jason supports her, while Killian stands back, watching the whole drama unfold without saying a word. “Fine,” Cassian finally says. “But he'll be taken to the dungeon for days.” I swallow hard. I didn't even know that there was a basement. But none of it sounds good. Cassian looks over at me, but I don't even want to be in his presence at that point. I just want to find Nate. It doesn't matter if I am not supposed to see him. I need to make one exception. Besides, he has already seen what it is like to be me. My mother was just the controlled version. And I am the chaotic one. I manage to locate his room, knocking on the door with the last ounce of control that I have in me. The door is pushed open from the inside, and I see Nate. He looks… handsome. Way better than the first time he came. He looks fatter, and his skinny legs now have more skin. He looks so perfect in his clothes. I could go back outside and hug Jason. He is the one behind it. He and Cassian. His eyes light up the second he sees me, and he wraps his arms around me. “I knew that you would come see me,” he says calmly, holding me so close that he is almost suffocating me. But I know that I would rather be with him at that point, than with anybody else.
