With his vampire speed. Marcus slammed against James. Knocking him out to the ground “what Are you doing here dog!” Marcus spit. James got up walked toward him shifting into his wolf. He let a howl. He was about to launch at him when Alice screamed. “Noooo James, please no!” Crying she went to stand between them. Marcus immediately pulled her in back of him, ready to attack James in a second. Alice grabbed Marcus arms. “Please Marcus let me talk to him.” Marcus turned his face to look at her. He starred into her eyes. Trying to read her face. James shifted back, covering his manhood. He kept his eyes on Alice’s hands grabbing Marcus arms. Alice was starring back at Marcus. James could see devotion and a promise? What is she promising him. He hated how she looked at Marcus. She had never looked at him that way. He knew he didn’t have a right to be upset since he hid from her that had found his mate while they were together. The truth is that he has loved Alice since they were children. He has seen her grow going through all those awkward stages and still thought she was the most beautiful of them all. His mate wasn’t pure, she had not waited from him. Alice is pure. She always carried herself with respect and purity. He deserved her. He had waited for her all this time. It’s not fair.

Marcus straightens up. He brushes Alice’s lower lip. “I’ll be standing right there. I won’t go anywhere. Please make it quick. We have matters to attend.” Marcus kissed her. Alice blushed. Marcus stepped back. James felt betrayed. “Are you sure he is the one you want? We’ve been in each other’s life since 5? How can you look at him that way?” Marcus asked. “I don’t know how to explain it to you. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted without knowing I wanted it. He’s my other half. He is my heart. I am in love with him. I love you as a brother. Deep down you know you love me as a sister too. We would have eventually fallen apart. We’re different. Very different, I didn’t mean to hurt you. You should try things with your mate.” Alice explained. “How can you stand a dead man? We’ve respected you, I’ve been there for you all this time. You belong to me. I don’t understand why moon goddess didn’t give you to me as a mate. I am willing to reject her for you. Please just ask and it’s done but don’t leave me for him.” James begged. “James, he is the air I breathe. I can’t live without him. He’s a part of me that I can’t and I’m not willing to give up. Not for you or my parents. Only death would do us apart.” Alice closed her eyes. “I didn’t mean to cause you pain. You’ve been with your mate all this time. I think it’s time for you to give yourself to her completely. She’s your mate just like Marcus is my destined mate. I won’t give him up.” Alice walked towards Marcus. Marcus swam with love and passion. He wanted to take her right there and then. The way she had expressed it’s the way he feels for her but a thousand times more stronger. “Alice, don’t do this. I don’t want to be your enemy.” James cried with anger. “James please. I don’t want to be your enemy. I am happy and he’s whom I want. Please, let me go. I am not yours. I’m his.” Alice reached towards Marcus. Marcus immediately grabbed her waist and kissed her head. His dead heart beating at her words. “He’s the one for me, James. No one else. Now please leave. Have a life for yourself. Make your mate happy, give yourself a chance brother.” Alice buried her face on Marcus chest.

James shifted and left howling. Alice could sense it was out of pain. She hated her self but she knew better. Marcus was and will be the one for her, forever. She cried. Her tears flowed and flowed. she lost a brother. It felt like she had buried her brother. Marcus kept holding her and kissed her head, face, nose and cheeks. Wiping away her tears with kisses. He knew he wouldn’t had step aside. He was too selfish to let her go but he could be there for her. He could and will be everything she needs him to be.
