Chapter Twenty Six - Arrest
Alisha cooked in the kitchen while I settled in on the couch. I realized how exhausted and hungry I was once I sat down. I was hugely pregnant and was really pushing myself with today's activities. I got a text from Shane reiterating what Shawna had said. He asked me to please at least get stuff for my office and the bedroom, and even if I didn't end up staying, the space could be utilized when he was visiting with our son. I started shopping around for some basics: A bedding set in a color I liked and a simple chair. I would be able to go get toiletries and my clothing in another trip to my apartment and I would buy maternity clothing with my own money. I finished my shopping and flipped on the TV to the news channel. I was shocked to see my place of employment on the screen. “L
