CHAPTER 21 A little before ten, Delaney called it a night. To her surprise, the kids actually said good bye to her—“And not in a way that makes it sound like they’re shoving you out the door,” Connor muttered as he walked her to her car. The southern night had fallen soft and humid around them. More fireflies were out, drifting through the close woods.
