PROLOGUE

“Zian, come on.” Nially said as she rounded an arm around her classmate and friend’s shoulder. “We’re graduating from high school soon. What’s wrong with celebrating beforehand?”

“Yeah,” another one of his friends added. “It’s just a little party. We’ll be drinking but not so much. What do you say?”

The eighteen year old sighed in defeat. His friends always invited him to their plans and the only time he would refuse them was when alcohol was involved. It’s either beer or the occasional rum and coke but alcohol is still alcohol.

Persuaded by his pals to go, Zian left that evening and joined his friends for a little party. Another reason why he decided to agree to go was because Alden was there – the boy he had been secretly holding special feelings floor.

“Why did I fall in love with you, bro?” Zian slurred later that night. He was too drunk to hold his thoughts. It was too late, he had blurted it out. The disgust on Alden’s face registered on his brain faster than he could recover from his slip of the tongue.

’Of course, he would be disgusted. I fell for him, another man.’
