A call from my phone erupted in the deafening silence of the room. I could hear the crickets chirping as I stared blankly at the white ceiling. Angelic intertwined her fingers through my shaking hands.
Answering the call, I let the caller spoke. “Owen…” Monica’s voice was heard. Angelic pressed the speaker button earlier. The three of them looked at me with worry in their eyes.
