“I heard you cooked dinner for tonight,” my mom said. I almost choked on my food. Grabbing the glass of water, I swallow before drinking half of the water in my glass. How did she know? “Yeah,” I answered casually. “What, for?” “I want to. I’m bored.” “Don’t do it again.” My mom struck a glare, and when my dad told her that if I wanted to learn how to cook, then it was better. Mom glared at him. “Angelic,” she said in an irritated voice. These past few days, she’s been stressed and she always has this scowl in her face. They fight a lot, too. I sighed. “What’s wrong, mom?” I asked. “When was the last time you saw Zach?” I stopped, put down my hands under the table, and started pinching them. They knew? They knew Zach had been ignoring me? My heart started beating rapidly!
