Chapter 14After a week of bed rest Morgan finally persuaded Helena to let her hobble about the house. Morgan was feeling as irritable and unruly as a child, and even Elizabeth failed to entertain her after a while. Once Morgan had free rein of the house, her mood was much improved and the three women spent the time walking along the shore, playing card games and chatting about anything and everything. Morgan wasn’t however, very fond of having to wear a dress when out and about and did so only at Helena’s insistence. At night, Helena and Morgan drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms.
