Chapter 16The return trip to New York was uneventful compared to their last adventures. No one looked twice when both Morgan and Helena shared the captain’s quarters this time—and they did make good use of that small, cramped bed. Agnes and Charlie were in an even better mood than Helena thought possible when they saw just how happy Morgan was.
When New York came into view, Morgan made her transformation from Captain Morgan McKenzie to Evelyn Brown, gentlewoman of the Americas. She wore a simple grey skirt with matching vest and white top, complete with grey, wide-brimmed hat. A simple dress, but it was how she liked it and it hugged her curves just so. Helena was a vision in a deep crimson red and Morgan wasn’t sure how she’d be able to keep her hands off her during the coach ride home.
