CHAPTER 2

“Yes. Gina” I nodded my head with a grave expression. I knew my mother was understanding and would come up with a soothing solution. “I hate weakness. I will have to just reject her” perhaps because of the Alpha bloodline that I had, I hated weakness and weak people with passion. “The Luna selection is tomorrow. I'll speak to Gilbert and get back to you before the party” my mother spoke calmly and stood up. I nodded my head and watched her go. My father is Gilbert, a powerful and fierce alpha while my mother was the daughter of the alpha of the eclipse park, Alpha Horis. Probably because of their powerful combination, I was known as a terrifying existence in the werewolf world. Jayden Dallas, 25 years and the strongest werewolf in the whole of my park, the Blue Moon park. No rough dare lurk around the border of my park. “Come over and… bring Skyler along” I closed my eyes and mind linked my Beta, Mario. “Ok, Alpha” Mario's voice came from the other end immediately. Phil's Pov: “Where are you coming from?” I hastily opened the door the moment I felt Gina's presence. I had been worried since she left the house without telling me earlier. “Just went out for a stroll” she replied with a forced smile. Any other person would have been deceived by the smile, but not me. I knew her better than anyone. And why is her voice hoarse? Anger washed over me immediately and my pupils gradually changed to black. I struggled to suppress my wolf. “Nothing much father” she smiled at me genuinely this time around. I was touched. I knew my daughter well. She would even smile at anyone who offended her. Only when she was frustrated to the extreme would she react the way I could see her reacting. “Ok then” I turned my back and walked towards my room. She didn't want to worry me. I knew it. “The party for the Luna selection is tomorrow” I reminded her before walking into my room. Even though she was wolfless now, I knew she had a wolf. And a very powerful one. Although I appear insignificant now, but I also carry a Beta bloodline and I could even defeat a careless alpha. “Phil… our daughter. Take care of her… the Luna is in labour…” Clara's voice resounded in my head and I fell on my bed the moment I entered the room. My eyes became red and tears threatened to stream down my face. That was 21 years ago. Gina's POV: Ring… ring… ring… The alarm beside my bed sounded like hell and jolted me out of my sleep. “What the f**k! Sweet goodness!” I shouted and jumped out of bed the moment I saw what the time was. “30 minutes to… No!” I shook my head and checked again. “30 minutes to the party?” My heart raced as I confirmed my fears. I rubbed my eyes and dashed into the bathroom. Within minutes, I was on my way to the Alpha's mansion. “What? Wolfless is also here? Dumb ass!” a little boy pointed at me the moment I stepped in the hall and drew everyone's attention to me. Different fingers pointed at me at the same time and noises filled the air. Noises of hatred. I didn't want to come either. But a part of me thought I still had hope. I walked away from the hall towards the garden in the mansion and breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone mocking me gave a feel of a weird atmosphere. Suddenly, I saw Jayden. Yes Jayden. “Jay…” the words were almost out of my throat when I saw a woman with her hands on Jayden's neck. My body froze and my brain stopped working. I expected this but the reality was way too hard to accept. “Gina is a just an ordinary weakling. She can't be our Luna. She doesn't deserve you” the familiar voice stunned me and my eyes opened to see who it was. “Skyler?” horror filled my eyes as the two of them kissed and romanced themselves in front of me. Even though I stood at an inconspicuous angle, I knew they could smell my presence. And I was particularly cautious whenever I met Skyler. She hated me the most in all of the park. She took it upon herself to bully me all the time. Because I had no wolf, she would beat me up and wound me whenever our path crossed. “Alpha, this park needs a strong Luna. Not a coward” Skyler said again as she rubbed seductively against Jayden. “Just call me Jayden. I'll not have a coward as my Luna” Alpha Jayden answered her and stared at my direction with a disgusting look. My body shook and I hid behind the wall. I retreated and ran back to the party hall with a heavy heart. The fact was that I was really not as useless as they say. Even though I could not change to my wolf form, I still can defend myself against the attack of a werewolf. I grew up with my father and he trained me himself. In terms of skills, I was arguably the best swordman and archer in the whole of Blue Moon park. But… the difference between me and a matured werewolf is still there. The party started and everyone began to merry. I sat alone at a corner and looked at everyone. Father refused to come, so I was alone. The environment quietened as the Alpha; Jayden, stepped out and picked the microphone. “I'm happy to announce to you all that the Luna of our Blue Moon park has been selected” Jayden's voice boomed over the microphone. The audience erupted with cheers and screams. “I found my mate recently. And today, I'll present my Luna to the whole park” the environment became calm as soon as Alpha Jayden spoke. Everyone wanted to see the destined mate of the alpha. “Gina Cole” I heard my name and froze. “Come out” Jayden commanded and pointed at me. “Huh…?”
