CHAPTER 4

“Or I am in heaven?” Yes. Probably. I should been in heaven. The memories of being choked to death and struggling with suffocation replayed in my mind and confirmed my thoughts. I felt a cold shiver run down my spine and I turned to look at my body. “Ahh…!” the sight of the long golden hair cascading down my shoulders scared the hell out of me. “Finally. Hahaha…” I turned my head and sat up abruptly as a voice filtered into my ears. The laughter was scary and soothing at the same time. “Who… are you…? Why am I here…?” I asked with fright when I saw a tall and sturdy man walking towards me from afar. He looked familiar but I just couldn't remember where I met him before. “I'm your father. You've just been awoken” he replied with a smile and moved closer to me. “ No! I am Gina Cole!” I shouted and backed off. What's wrong this man? My father? Never! Gina shook her head in disbelief and stretched out her hands to stop him from approaching any further. “You're not my father!” ‘What the hell is all of this?’ thoughts after thoughts appeared in my head. ‘Is he trying to deceive me?’ “He is not trying to deceive you. He is your father, our father” just then, a voice as calm as a still sea sounded in my ears, or rather in my head. I jumped and turned to my back with my fists clenched, ready to defend myself. “Who are you?” I asked sternly when I saw no one around me. The man who claimed to be my father just smiled with a funny expression and sat on a broken rock nearby. “I'm Gold, your wolf” the voice sounded in my head again. My tensed nerves calmed down a bit. “My wolf?” I repeated silently in my mind and felt somehow ridiculous. “Yes, I am your wolf” the voice came again. I breathed a sigh of relief when I realised that the voice came from my mind and my so-called father did not seem to hear our conversation. “It has been so long haha…” my eyes shifted to my new father as he laughed with anger all over his face. “My period of waiting is over. Nicole Stone, you bastard! I'm going to make you pay for everything” A resolute look appeared on his face. I knew he was sad, and I could not help feeling sad alongside him. “My father…” my lips wavered as I tried to console him. But wait… this cold heart of mine won't console just anybody. “Arianna” “What?” I turned to face him and gazed intently at him. Did he just call me Arianna? “Your mother named you at birth before she died, Arianna” his eyes turned crimson red as he mentioned my mother and I could feel that he was really angry this time around. “It is has been 23 years of painful wait. But my patience finally paid off. My hope is awake at last, hahaha” his laughter sounded throughout the entire cave prison with an undisguised aura of authority. My body trembled and I felt my blood boil with excitement. “Hey, which moron is that?” one of the guards outside the prison, a young werewolf approached the door with disgust at the sound of my father's laugh. “Laugh like a freak again and see what I will do” his narrowed eyes revealed his sinister intentions as he spat and hissed before walking away. My blood boiled and my wolf urge me to clench my fist. “No! Don't! I would have killed him long ago if I wanted to. But no!” my father sprang up and grabbed my hand, while shaking his head repeatedly. “Now is not the time. He must not know that you're awake” my face relaxed and and I opened my half clenched fist. But wait… what would have happened if I really clenched my fist? “He would have died immediately” my wolf's furious voice sounded in my head at the moment I had the thought. And my wolf was really annoyed at sparing the disrespectful guard. “That is one of our abilities. You're a golden werewolf, a rare breed among werewolves. We are special” I stared at myself with doubt about everything. Probably I am in heaven. It should be so. There's no way I can still be alive. I gazed at the distance and saw a stagnant pool of water. “Yes!” I stood up and ran towards the water. “Huh?...” I stared at the ethereal beauty with golden hair staring at me in the pool. This is my reflection? “Drag him up here! Is he still struggling? Inject him with wolfsbane and bring him with me!” the head of the prison guards barked angrily with frustration at this moment. “You are being stubborn? Trying to assassinate an alpha king, are you in a hurry to die? Blockhead! Kill him if he struggles again!” the head of the guards screamed with resentment again. “Slap…” “Are you out of your mind, damn criminal?!” one of the guards screamed in agony as he tried to grab the fierce criminal who managed to break free from the grip of the ten guards who held him. “Give him wolfsbane! Immediately!” the head of the guards shouted with a hoarse voice. This burly man is just too fierce. No wonder he tried to kill an alpha king. “Bring the damn man over, now! Throw him into the stone cave” he snorted. A middle aged man with a sturdy build is dragged towards the farthest cave prison in the dungeon. “You have companion, criminals!” Gregory stood up and covered Arianna in time before the prison door was slammed open and a burly man covered in wounds was thrown in. He was almost unrecognisable with different wounds and bruises all over him. “Huh?...” Arianna and Gregory stepped forward as soon as the guards left with curiousity. Why is he familiar… “Dad?!!” “Beta Phil?!!”
