He must have made himself believe it. After all, King Richard used to say his dear wife’s memory lived in that perfect circle. But now as Sapiens held the stranger’s pendant, with no connection to her or her necklace whatsoever, he felt similar safety and childish peace wash over him once more. He felt home.
