Fabian didn’t ask any questions. He led his friend to the garden in the hope that only a few servants would be there, if any. A passerby servant had already seen the Prince in his breakdown and exclaimed; Fabian didn’t want anyone else to see Sapiens in that state even with word most likely getting around about it. He spotted the gardener on the farthest end of the Western Garden. It stirred up some childhood memories from when Fabian used to come to the palace with his father, the gardener of the royal palace, before he’d known his way to drinking and everything started to crumble. He pushed his thoughts aside and led Sapiens to the Eastern Garden, away from the gardener and the painful memories. He sat his friend down beneath an orange tree that was starting to bloom, shaded and hidden
