Hermes ran into some turbulence on the way to Hyperborea, so unlike their other trips with him, the students were actually able to see some of the scenery. It was a good thing none of them had a fear of heights, because Hermes was levitating them far above the clouds, through which they could see glimpses of the earth below. It would have been an awe-inspiring view—had there been something beneath their feet, and a nice guard rail to prevent them from falling.
At least the delay gave them a chance to take about their recent experiences. Doing so while Aphrodite might have overheard would have been foolish.
