The Brooklyn Gala for the local chapter of the Stranded Hearts Foundation for aspiring mental health practitioners is held at the Four Seasons in Midtown Manhattan.
And it is just as I'd imagined it--overpriced food, champagne, and more pompous businessmen and women than you could shake a portfolio at.
In the past, I'd have enjoyed a good gala like this, an occasion for philanthropy and a venue for healthy networking.
I'd enjoy bringing my associates together to talk business, and this type of event makes it quite easy. Galas were ripe for investment-raising opportunities, a great place to create and catch up on business deals as your sexy date for the evening flits around the room.
