The announcement that Katia was pregnant was the best news that could have come our way, given our current circumstances. It was something Jonathan had always wanted, so I was thrilled to see him finally getting what he always wanted: a mate and a house full of pups. It was a joy for Katia as well. She always dreamed of having a big family. They were entering the beginning of the most beautiful chapter in their lives.
Jonathan had arranged for Katia to see Dr. Neal earlier in the week. Unfortunately, he could not attend with the Onyx Fang Pack on its way. As a result, I offered to go in his place. My alarm went off at five AM that morning. As I reached over, I noticed Hector's side of the bed was empty. As he had done when he proposed, he left a note and a white rose.
