Connie glided gracefully into Ryker headquarters building.
Last night, she'd had a few bottles of wine and enjoyed a nice night. It took her a lot of restraint to not put a call across to Roland and have him thank her for removing a burden for him. He might not see it yet but one day he was bound to realise what good she did for him.
And she didn't even need to lift a finger for it.
Stopping briefly at the door, she wore her go-to-smile. The one that once had Roland's legs buckling. Then she proceeded in.
“Roly sweetie!” she called but frowned on seeing someone else.
“Miss Connie.” Mr Adkins looked up from the computer. He had not heard her come in.
