Chapter 27: World Class 5

1183 Words
Bruce, who had been so arrogant before, was now afraid and backed away. The scene in the room got ugly very quickly. And Horse couldn't take the tension any longer. He wasn’t the kind of person to wait for an attack. He waved his hand, "f**k you! There are only three of them. We outnumber them. Go on! Anyone who doesn’t step up is going to have to answer to me." "You make our goons fight for you? Huh? I’ll give you all a last chance. If you all leave us alone, we won’t do you any harm." Luther warned. He knew killing these people was unnecessary. He wasn’t cruel enough to kill out of anger, so he decided to give them a chance to leave them alone. The other goons all looked at Horse with hopeful eyes. Maybe he would let them go free. They all had become terrified of the man with powers. But they were even more afraid of Horse, who had proven he was stronger than any other man they had met. They were too scared to decide for themselves now. Horse was someone who got stronger every day. Even Luther didn’t know how strong he was now. The goons had all witnessed Horse tear both infected people and survivors in half! Their team used to be made up of eleven people. But only a few days ago, someone complained about how Horse was rationing the food. Because of this, Horse ripped the man’s head from his body and tossed it to the rats outside. No one dared to disobey Horse's orders after that. They clenched their teeth tightly and did as he commanded. The people now surrounded Luther, ready to attack him with their various weapons, but Luther didn't flinch at all. Constance wasn’t afraid for her brother. She knew he was more than capable of winning this fight. She knew that these people wouldn’t touch him. However, Clark and Horse, who didn’t know Luther’s power thought very differently. Clark began to feel very anxious. There were so many of them! And they weren’t like the infected people outside. They were able to think and plan and fight with weapons! And they were much more agile than zombies. Luther should run away. Clark regretted bringing Luther into this... And Horse was excited. At first, he was afraid of his powers and his muscular frame, but now he was surrounded by henchmen. He was not going to come out of this alive. "You asked for this. Now you’ll get what’s coming to you.” However, Luther took his sword from his waist and spoke coldly, "Since you all seem to want to fight this out, I can’t promise that you won’t get hurt or killed now." Luther lifted his sword, slashing twice through the air as a display of his agility. He growled, "World Class 5 umbrella!" A whirlwind formed in front of him. He maneuvered his sword to swing in a circle in front of his body so quickly that it gave the appearance of a shield. Luther blocked several people’s weapons with ease. Luther shouted and pushed forward with his sword, backing them away so he had more space. "Wh....what? He blocked them…" Horse couldn't even believe his eyes. This young man was able to block everyone from attacking him with nothing but a sword. And what did he say just now? World Class 5? What the hell was that? Clark was just as shocked. He opened his mouth in surprise, and said, "Five... World Class 5 can do that?” He only understood World Class 5 fighting because Luther had explained it to him on their way to East Ridge. Luther only taught them three types of fighting skills in the short time they had together. They were Umbrella, Evasion and Explosion. The umbrella style was to use a weapon fast enough to form a shield. According to Luther, the umbrella defense mainly depended on the speed of the rotation of a weapon so he could block enemy attacks without the use of a shield. It was even effective enough to block bullets. Of course, Clark thought that Luther was just bragging at that time because it didn’t seem so extravagant when he demonstrated it before. He even thought it was a useless skill. But Luther knew all along that this skill would be important. And now, seeing Luther performing an umbrella maneuver, even though all he did was block their attack, it looked to be much more powerful than he gave it credit. If he was more powerful, the Umbrella he used could even block bullets. Luther also said that World Class 5 was manmade, as well as the Heaven Class 3 and the most powerful Hell Shura. After seeing the power of Luther's Umbrella, Clark couldn’t imagine how powerful the so-called ‘cruelest’ attack—the legendary Hell Shura—must be. Constance smiled. She had asked Luther earlier why he didn't use this skill to kill the mutant pig in Cedar Creek. Luther explained that his strength and agility were not powerful enough to perform it yet. And he had no time to really practice it before entering Cedar Creek. Besides, this trick was not useful for fighting mutant pigs without using the World Class 5 Explosion. But the Explosion required strict discipline and control over his own power. And this skill also required he use so much more energy than he was accustomed to expending. The result was unpredictable, so he chose to keep safe and use that power later. The World-Class 5, the human fighting skills and tricks developed in the first ten years of Doomsday, were more than enough to deal with these people. Luther did this, mainly to demonstrate to Clark, so that he could know the power of World Class 5. This kind of trick relied on accumulated practice to strengthen proficiency. After all, Clark had special fighting powers. For Clark, this kind of trick was a rare one, and he wanted him to see the importance of learning such an important skill. How did this guy know how to fight so well? What did he do before doomsday? Horse couldn’t believe what he saw. He was left dumbfounded, unsure of the skill of this new opponent. "It doesn’t matter how talented you are, I can still squash you like a bug!" Horse knew that these dumbasses couldn’t defeat Luther on their own now. He walked forward and kicked one of his henchmen out of his way. Crack! The sound of bone splintering was heard. The henchman cried out in pain and pulled away, hiding with his face to the wall as he clutched his side.  "Trash." Horse didn't even look at his defeated team of rogues. He only stared at Luther. Luther's eyes narrowed. Judging from his kick, his strength was at least three times stronger than an ordinary man. "He got this strong only a few days after Doomsday had begun. Doesn’t that give him animalistic power?” Constance asked, "What does that mean?" "The animalistic powers are superpowers of growth that possess certain…people. It makes their bodies attract and collect thermonuclear radiation. It also increases the beast's size and strength over time. But it doesn’t just make them stronger, it turns them into…into beasts. They become chaotic and short-tempered…and very difficult to defeat when they’re angry.”
