Gregory's body shifted as wakefulness pushed its way to the surface. He took a shuddering breath as his head lolled back and forth.
Full of agitation, his eyes fluttered open despite how undesirable consciousness was to him.
There wasn't much light, so his eyes adjusted quickly. He was in a very large cavern. Stalactites hung down far above his head.
Reproachfully, he pushed himself up to a sitting position. He was soaking wet and naked. Glaring about the cave, he tried to understand more about his surroundings.
He could see the light coming in from the mouth of the cave hundreds of yards away. A pristine underground lake sat at the center of the cavern as well.
And all around the lake were massive piles of glittering gold. It was a true treasure hoard.
