“Turn around," Jayden said, jaw locked. “Riverfront's that way," Alvarez replied on speaker. “You walk into my scene, you make it worse." “I'm not walking in," Jayden said, cutting across two lanes. “I'm stopping at St. David's." “For what?" “Proof." “Proof of what?" “That my wife—" he swallowed “—is actually pregnant."
