Chapter 6

Liam POV

More and more rogues continued coming out of the shadows across the boarder. I hear Akita howl out in pain and my whole body tenses. I spare a look at her and blood is pouring from her leg. It looks like they are trying to drag her away but she's holding steady against them.

Liam I don't feel so good Leah says through the mind link. I know it went through to everyone.

"Bring me the pure white wolf" I hear the leader call out. Steal snarls and starts working harder to kill the rogues.

Mate. I have to protect Mate! He is almost frantic in my head.

I know buddy but she can hold her own. Trust her.

Out of the corner of my eye I see her taking down rogue after rogue.

Hang on Leah. you can do it I say trying to reassure her and calm her down. I feel her starting to panic.

Finally I feel Owen and Jake appear with a few others. Jake makes fast work of killing the rogues attacking Leah and when they see Owen they retreat running back across our territory line. When they are gone I swiftly shift back and run over to Leah. We drape a blanket over her naked body.

I have never seen so much blood before coming out of a wound. it's deep.

"Liam" she says and I feel tears in my eyes. Her head flops to the side and she blacked out.

"Hang on baby, I got you" I say as I pick her up. "Owen call the doc. I'm going to run over there" Jake tries to take her from me and I let out a warning grown as I start running toward the pack hospital.

Doc Robert. Leah is in bad shape. Liam and Jake are bringing her to you now I hear Owen through the mind link.

I'm ready for her doc says back.

I'm running as fast as I can without jarring her beautiful body. "Hang on baby" I continue to say, pleading with her to stay with me. "Don't leave me yet, we haven't had a chance".

I get to the hospital with Jake right on my heals. As doc said, he had a room and bed ready. I lay her down, and begin telling Doc what happened and when she passed out. "She lost a lot of blood" I finish saying.

"This cut is deep. It's going to take her a few days to heal because of all the blood loss" he says as he inspects her. April is a nurse and she is giving Leah oxygen and an IV.

Jake and I both watch helplessly. "Doc why isn't she waking up" Jake says as we watch April start to disinfect the cuts. 2 have already began to heal on their own.

"Jake shes lost a lot of blood. She is going to need rest to build it all back up, even with wolf healing" the doc says as he begins to stich up up the biggest cut. "It's all the way way the bone and even cut into her bone" he says.

I look and Jake and see he is mindlinking someone the information. Then Owen walks in behind us, he walks straight past us to Leah's side and he hold her hand. "I'm sorry sis. I should have been there faster" I see tears in his eyes. He looks back at me. "Thank God you were with her. Liam I can't thank you enough. But why were you with her? You didnt have patrol tonight?"

It takes me a minute to answer as I try to clear my throat looking at my beautiful mate. "I just wanted to be near her and I knew she had patrol" I said quietly. "I just started running with her. We didn't even talk much, just ran and she checked her boarders. But Owen. One of them said to bring them the pure white wolf. Why do they want her?"

This seemed to take Owen and Jake by surprise. "I don't actually know. But I will talk to my dad and find out. She's not going to be happy about it but IF she goes back on patrol she will not be alone."

We all let this sink in for a few seconds before Jake turns to me. "How long have you known" he asked me quietly and I couldn't even act like I didn't know what he was talking about.

"Since I was 17" I say staring at Leah.

"But she was only 11!" Jake says getting angry. His green eyes quickly becoming the yellow of he's wolfs.

Owen steps in and helps explain, "At first it was only caring about her safety. Liam always made sure she was safe, even when she didn't know..."

"As we get closer to her 17th birthday though" I finish for Owen. "It's getting harder. We didn't want anyone to know because we want finding her mate to be special for her. The less people who know. the better" I finish by looking Jake straight in the eye.

"Fine" he huffs. "I have things to do" and he turns on his heels and walks out of the hospital.

"He will come around" Owen assures me. "It's hard to imagine your baby sister having a mate when you dont" he says with a knowing smile.

Before I can reply Leah's mom walks in. She walks like she is the queen herself and honestly she looks like a queen. Her blonde hair is pulled back in a sleek bun and her clothes are put together perfectly. She walked straight by me and Owen and goes to Leah's side.

"I am going to catch dad before he comes in and let him know what I found out. See if we can meet with the Elders and come up with something" Owen says. He walks over to his mom and kisses her on the cheek.

After he leaves the room, I know I should follow but I just can't leave my beautiful mate in here.

"Liam" Luna Kelly calls to me.

"Yes Luna?"

"Help me please" she says sweetly. "I need you to hold her up, brace her head so she doesn't flop and support her back. I am going to braid her hair so when she wakes up it will be easier to manage."

"Yes Luna" I say and walk over to Leah. Careful of all the wires, and not to jar Leah, I carefully pull her up from the bed supporting her while Luna Kelly braids her hair. The whole time she sings a song to Leah and I can't help but relax at her beautiful voice.

When she's done I lay Leah back down gently and sit in a chair next to her. Luna Kelly lays next to Leah in the bed and holds her hand and continues to sing.

After a few minutes Luna Kelly smiles softly at me. "Your going to have your hands full with this one Liam" she says with a knowing twinkle in her eye.

"Yes Ma'am" I say not even bothering to to ask how she knows. I am sure it's written all over my face.

"She is a spitfire. Just don't try to extinguish her flame. She's going to be great along side you and Owen. I won't ask you to leave, but I will ask you to get some sleep" she winks at me and with that she stands up, kisses Leah on the forehead and walks out.

About 10 minutes later Owen and Alpha Allen walk in.

I told him you feel some responsibility for what happened. That's why your here Owen says through a mindlink. He is a lot easier then mom.

Thanks I say.

Alpha Allen walks straight over to Leah on the bed. "Hey princess" he kissed her forehead. "You need to wake up. Without your smile, all my joy and happiness is gone".he says with a forced smile.

"Dad," Owen starts. "Why do the rogues want a pure white wolf?"

"Honestly son, I am not sure. I know of some legends where the pure white wolf has some kind of power, but if Leah had powers, I think we would know." Alpha Allen's brows come together as he's thinking.

"She did shift early, and Akita is stronger than almost all the wolves here in our pack, and bigger" and I say looking at Owen.

"Strength could be a power. Or we do always say that she is the joy and happiness of the family. Maybe that could be a power" Owen continues.

"I don't know boys. At the next elder meeting we will go. We will ask questions and we will find out. I will also call grandpa and see if he knows anything. He may not be a Rogue but he is out there like one" Alpha Allen says. "Owen you can't let her patrol" he says looking at Owen sternly.

"Not to worry about that" Doc says walking in. "She will need to rest for at least 2 weeks. She lost a lot of blood and healing is going to take some time."

We all nod our heads at the doctor. "You know when the 2 weeks is up she will be out patrolling" Owen says to Alpha Allen. "I don't even know if I can stop her".

"If she puts up a big fight I will patrol with her. 2 weeks will be light but I bet we can get away with a month of no hard contact for her. Hopefully by then we will figure all this out" I say to the Alpha's.

Alpha Allen nods his head. "I need to get to your mother. She is hurting." He walks over and whispers to Leah "wake up princess. This world needs you. We need you. I need you" he gently kisses her forehead again and walks out.

For a few minutes Owen and I just sit there staring at Leah. Finally he says, "I'm going to read some old journals from the ancient Alphas of the pack. See if I can find anything on a white wolf. I want to know as soon as she's awake" he looks at me sternly. "Not that I need to say it but, don't leave her alone. Let me or Jake know if you need to leave".

"Yes sir" I say with a slight smile and he leaves the room. I walk over and touch her face lightly. I look at the time and it's almost midnight. Exhaustion hits my body like a train and I sit down next to my mate and fall asleep.
