After paying for the money Alon still had quite a lot left, but he still felt pained.
'It feels like my ring is not even there anymore.' Alon thought to himself. Though it was impossible to feel the weight of the items inside the inter-spatial ring, he still thought to himself foolishly.
*Slap*
He slapped his face hard while walking toward the array which startled the trio and the people who joined their batch.
'If I'm this stingy with my money, how will I ever get a girlfriend?' The light in Alon's eyes changed and he started to walk forward with determination.
"He must again be thinking about something stupid; at least he did not say it out loud." Helena sighed and Hans nodded his head. They had gotten closer to Alon after traveling with him for two days. They also became aware of Alon's habit to think out loud.
"He is just stupid." Adam chimed in on what he thought to be 'back bitching'.
They too entered the array, joining Alon who was already standing on top of it.
The array was activated, it was his second time traveling with an array, but he was still nervous. So subconsciously, he reached out and grabbed Helena's hand while his eyes were closed in nervousness.
"What do you think you are doing?" Adam said threateningly, while he reached over to the hilt of his sword.
"What do you me--?" Before Alon could finish his words, he looked at the hand he was holding and jerked his hand away, "But I was—"
Before the situation could escalate further, the array was activated.
*************************
Alon opened his eyes slowly and found himself in a grand hall with many smaller teleportation arrays, and at the center of them all, there was a humongous array, bigger than all the smaller arrays combined.
"Whoa. This place is bustling with people." Alon let out in amazement.
"This is a big event for the whole continent, people are gathering from every corner to take part in this event," Hans explained to Alon calmly.
While Hans was calmly explaining Alon, Adam was shooting mocking gazes at Alon.
"I asked you to trust in my judgment, but seems like you have gotten quite close with Alon," Helena said teasingly to her brother with a sly smile.
"Let's find an inn to stay in before they all get occupied," Adam said while ignoring Helena's remark.
"Would you like to repay our hospitality?" But he still added a comment directed toward Alon.
Hans was in the middle of explaining to Alon about the event. Alon continued to listen to him ignoring Adam's comment, he kept his expression composed while listening to Hans's explanation but his ears couldn't help but turn red.
"Brother, you know this place the best. You should go ahead and secure an inn for us. We will roam around the city a bit." Helena said and acted almost at the same time. She grabbed Alon and Hans, dashing out of the hall.
The city was so huge that Alon's jaw dropped, the city seemed to be endless. And there were ten pillars reaching up to the sky, at the seeming center of the city which was also quite far from them.
"Those pillars are the symbol of the Ten Great Schools of the continent. Though they seem to be united as one, the reality couldn't be more contradicting." Hans explained when he found Alon awestruck by the pillars.
"Let's go to the market." Helena pulled on both of their arms; all they could do was to comply.
Alon had already become a part of their party of three; no they were now a party of four.
They went from shop to shop, from stall to stall. Helena did not buy anything but still, Alon felt his body become heavier.
She was just enjoying herself. Hans did not complain in the slightest, he would always be standing beside Helena with a doting smile.
Just like that, night arrived. Alon was tired out of his nerves; he had never felt so tired before, not even after training for a full day.
"Brother has found a place for us to stay, we should get going," Helena said to Alon who had just sat down to rest.
He got up with a groan and followed after Helena.
They soon reached the inn where Adam had told them to come.
But before they could enter the inn, they saw Adam walk out of the inn with a dark expression.
"Where are you going, didn't you book the rooms or something."
Before Aon could ask anything, a mocking voice called out from within the inn and a man walked out from there.
The man's face was oval, with sharp eyes and pale skin; he was handsome, but still far from someone like Adam.
Alon felt there were too many handsome people in this world, he felt quite ordinary among them.
"Let's get out of here," Adam said grimly to them.
Alon was shocked by his behavior; this guy was shying away from a fight?
Helena was also shaking from head to toe while grabbing her shoulders.
"Did you pay for the room?" Alon couldn't take it, he asked while moving in front of Helena.
Adam turned around with wide eyes at Alon's inquiry. Helena looked up and all she could see was Alon's back; he was standing protectively in front of her, his back covered her entirely.
"I asked if you paid for the rooms first," Alon asked sternly, finding Adam's reaction pathetic.
Adam opened and closed his mouth several times.
"Yes." Adam finally answered.
"You, leave the inn right now," Alon said calmly while pointing at the man. He did not ask Adam for an explanation, he just simply took his side.
"What the hell?" The man was taken aback by Alon's declaration.
"Are you with them? How dare you talk to me like that?" The man shouted as he grabbed his sword.
Alon released a bit of his chaotic and ruthless sword aura that he had ended up obtaining from the space of 'Sword Invincible' sword art.
"They are with me."
