Before Alon could do anything, the man activated the teleportation array.
"If you wish to get off you still have ten seconds." The man said while looking straight, "But then you won't be able to keep that promise with the kid."
Alon's eyes widened. He had transmitted the voice directly to Kabi; no one should have heard that.
"You must not be from around here, out for training huh?" The man said while Alon studied him vigilantly.
*BOOM*
Before the array had fully activated, someone tried to enter the array in the final moment of activation.
"Such crude methods, were you even trying to hide your intentions?" The man said in a complaining way with a sigh.
The masked man, who had tried to get in, was intercepted by a barrier. All that the man could do was stare at the two figures inside the barrier as they disappeared.
"Until next time then," The man beside Alon said brightly.
After they had left, the masked man stayed still in place, seething in anger.
"Where are they headed?" The man asked the guard stationed at the array.
"I can't tell you." The guard plainly refused.
Just as the masked man was about to draw his sword, a suffocating aura enveloped him.
"Where do you think you are, your backyard?" a voice resounded throughout, "Leave right now if you don't wish to leave something behind."
The masked man clicked his tongue and walked away from the array.
The guard breathed a sigh of relief as he saw the man retreat.
"Was it worth it to offend the Assassin Guild?" the guard asked as if to thin air.
"Master asked me to do that, and what do you mean by 'offend'? I just showed them their place," The voice from before resounded out arrogantly.
"Okay, okay, can you stop doing that now?" the guard said while fingering his ears in annoyance.
***************************
Alon had a similar feeling he had when he traveled by the 'window', only difference was that the array was much more comfortable.
Soon he and the handsome man reached their destination.
He still had his mask on.
The place he set coordinates for was a forest.
He had asked Tess for a place where he could train without any disturbances. She had told him to go to the 'Abandoned green' and given him the coordinates for a safe zone inside the region.
'When will I get to take this off?' Alon had not been able to take the mask off ever since before. He was feeling very itchy on his cheeks by now.
He raised his hand to scratch his face…
"Oh! What is this? You are much younger than what I thought you would be." The man said while holding Alon's handkerchief.
Alon looked at the man with loathing eyes. The man's personality reminded him of someone. And the way he talked rubbed him the wrong way too.
'Does every strong person have a screw loose in their head?' Alon thought to himself.
"How can you say something so mean?" The man said with a hurt expression.
"Well, you do seem… H-How did you hear that?" Alon let out, surprised.
The man shrugged and said, "I'll teach you for a year, then I'll return to the Northern continent. It is a favor I'm doing for saving Theresa."
"No need," Alon said before turning around.
"You don't have a say in this. I have to make sure you survive till you can see them again, otherwise, she will be sad." The man said with an honest face.
"I'm not that weak," Alon said with a sharp gaze.
"But you are." The man let out while checking Alon out.
Alon unsheathed his sword and covered it in flames. The sword began to melt slowly, and before he could even launch an attack, it started to go limp.
"You can already conjure crimson flames? That's quite commendable, but your control is worse than even a novice." The man said judgingly.
"It is because the sword was of low quality." Alon declared loudly.
The aura around the man changed as he heard Alon's declaration. He swung his hand and a branch was torn off from the tree. He grabbed onto the branch and conjured flames that were exponentially fiercer than Alon's.
"The sword will only protect you from others when you can protect it from yourself." The man said while looking at the branch in his grip.
Alon looked at the branch, the temperature of the flames was much higher than his, but still, they did not hurt the branch in the slightest.
"You have just transcended recently yet you are so confident in your skills?" The man asked in a mocking tone.
Well if he had known that Alon had trained for barely three years, then his thoughts would be quite different.
Alon stopped just as he was about to make his next move. It was true that he was weaker than the man before him.
"Was you Transcendence really of Heart?" The man asked when he saw Alon stop in his attack.
"Yes," Alon said politely. He had changed his tone after realizing he was being persistent for no reason. If there was a way to get stronger he should grab onto it, just like now.
"Please teach me," Alon said while looking at the man with determination.
"Do you know how many types of Transcendence are there?" The man questioned Alon. He had to know how much Alon knew and how much he had to be taught.
"Seven," Alon replied.
"Good, you have the basic down then." The man said, pleased with Alon's reply.
Alon was about to fall on his bottom when he heard that.
"Don't be so surprised, that is all you have to know for what I will teach you. You see, for me, Transcendence doesn't mean much." The man said with a grin.
"Transcendence is for one to figure out on their own anyway. It is referred to as 'One's Path' for a reason, you see. I'll only teach you what I know of 'The Laws'."
"Yes sir," Alon replied loudly.
"So let us get this block of iron into shape." The man said smiling.
